Well this is from left of field

He's a small fwd improvement on Mahony, Spicer, and I think he has Hansen Jnr , Banch, Harvey and Payne covered.

So yes , I do think he can improve his conversion and happy for us to invest time into him . Still played sub 30 games. I think 50 is the time to start measuring output.

The above I've mentioned aren't it, so unless we find someone else.

Curtis Larkey Konstanty
Zurhaar Trembath Duursma.
Leaves Darling/ Duursma as the 7th fwd.

Curtis plays tall/small. Zurhaar can cover ground when he desires to do so.
Larkey can also motor up and down and drag the oppositions best with him.

Should leave Konstanty to be the one that applies pressure when the ball spills.

Had the opportunity to have a very good game today but kicked himself out of it.
Absolutely. Had he kicked those, a lot of the negativity from posters would be the total opposite.

Sounds great. For the opposition.

Next year will tell us - he’ll only be 21, but we’ll need to make a call. Needs to show he can bring goals. Next year, perhaps a benchmark would be five games of 2+ goals. If he can’t bring that, id say we have a one dimensional player with little chance of further improvement. Pressure in the forward half is needed, but i don’t think a forward half tagger can be carried full time.

Keays does the tagging job at HF for Adelaide.

He also kicked 35 goals for the year.

Took Keays until 26yo and year 8 to become the player he is.

Mind you, not every player is getting 8 years to prove themselves.
Exactly. Look at Cliff Young. He didn't come good til his 60's. Gumboots to Glory right there. Imagine if Westfield had delisted Cliff in his 40's......Patients my friends. Patients.

JFK was pick 20 in his draft. That's nothing to be sneezed at.

I really like him, his kicking for goal is a concern but fixable. If he had kicked 2.1 instead of 0.3 from 14 touches and 5 tackles the conversation about him this week would be really positive. After George and X he is a tackling beast especially up forward a trait we have been crying out for. A lot to like about the lad in my opinion.

Can’t fault his effort , work rate , toughness , pressure and tackling but Jesus he needs to improve his kicking . Small forwards need to hit the scoreboard.
Any chance you could turn him into a small defender?

We had exactly the same issue with Sam Wicks. Was great at everything as a small forward except hitting the scoreboard.

Is it fixable though? People say that but for most I doubt it.

I want to believe it is as everything else he does is great. But gee some of those shots were absolute sodas and the ball barely made connection with his foot.

If I was him I'd seek out a personal kicking coach.

Yep that's exactly what he should do. He goes at it like a maniac, just like George W and sloppy disposal is common to both of them at times. He needs to practice a calming technique perhaps breathing to help him deliver under pressure. The potential is there and I wouldn't write him off after his first season in the big league. He is creating opportunities that can lead to a score, the most important aspect of his role in the team. As he grows in confidence hopefully some poise comes with it. Let's see where he is at with his goal kicking is this time next year.
