Not surprised to hear this. Best of luck to him.

Tasmania has also made an approach to lure him back to his home state to play VFL with the Devils next year if he doesn't land a lifeline in the AFL.

The Giants have been exploring a wide range of recycled players to add depth to the list. Fox is one of a number they are considering ahead of 2026.

Not surprised to see GWS look at Robbie. At 31 he's probably got a few more good years in him. Excellent depth potential for a mature team in the premiership window. That's why I'd have preferred that we'd kept him. He'll work his arse off to get a senior spot again, then work twice as hard to keep his spot.

I think Foxy would be an awesome addition to any list, especially a youthful one, in particular because of the great example he can set at training etc. However, I respect the club's decision to renew our list. Sometimes you have to make ruthless calls and even though I think Fox was our best performed player across the 2022 and 2024 Grand Finals (closely followed by Chad) I think he is not going to be the difference between us making or winning our next Grand Final. And potentially a new recruit could be (although not necessarily next year).

Foxy still doing a lot of fitness work often running around Centennial Park. It would be awesome if we could have him still involved in our VFL.

Robbie's interview on Trade Radio this morning:

Classy interview.

Interesting to hear he wants to stay in footy but is thinking of working on the commercial side, not so much as a coach.

Sounds like he's still looking for opportunities to play AFL next year but VFL for the Devils might be a fallback. Will be an amazing pick up for the Devils VFL team if they can get him.

Very smart guy Foxy. Any cluey CEO should be looking to see how he could be used.

"I'm not down there to get 100 touches and try to get drafted. That was never the plan. The plan is to move home with my family and be part of building this club. I'm working for the club, so I get to help build it off the field, but then on the field (we're) building a culture, building trademarks and values that we want to live by day to day," Fox said.

I do wonder if this came because he was delisted or he asked to be delisted to do this? He seems super passionate about the Tassie side

The devils people manager did a guest speaking role and said they had chatted when his AFL career was finished, well I took the implication was the swans was finishing so he wanted the next phase. Sounded like he always wanted to move back, apparently the future role is more important than playing etc when he signed.

They said he is such a great guy to have around
