42 Scoring shots

Ahh, not exactly i looked up on allthestats.com and it is the 400th most scoring shots lol.

The record was set by Hawthorn in Round 6, 1977 when they kicked a remarkable 25.41 191 totaling 60 SHOTS!

This shows where Carlton are at. They wasted shots and lairised with the ball once they felt they had the game in their keeping. They need to concentrate on doing the basics well.

I recall both goal umpires were stretchered off after the game.

Absolutely no question that's what we did. How dare we? Our first solid, competent victory and all of a sudden we're 1995! FMD!

That's a bit harsh Noodles.
As I have said in another thread, with the roof open and a gusty win, kicking at goal was always going to be a little tricky.

So they had a few pings on the run or from weird angles, big whoop. Makes a nice change from targeting Fev every time we get a clearance.

Spot on.

We should have hammered Port by close to 100 points, as we totally dominated them.

There were a few passages of play where the blues stuffed around with handball and silly attempts at finessing.

This side is on the improve, but is nowhere near good wnough to start playing the slick-type game the Cats are known for.

Master the basics, and everything else will come into place.

Accurate kicking for goal is the last step for us, if we get it right we will be winning flags. We have the midfield to kick massive scores and the backline to hold good opposition to modest scores. If we get some good forwards in that can kick straight we could be averaging 110-120 points a game or more, we could see scores of 160-170 against the weaker sides. It's just got to happen!

Im tending to agree with this. Mid way through the season we were awfully Fev centric. What happens if he gets injured? We wouldnt know what to do or who to target. This way we can prove and 'practice' on how to play a more team game brand of footy up forward.

It is true that the boys still have a way to go, and if you think this is harsh you need to get realistic. If we screw with the ball like we did, good teams will make us pay. Be honest, Port were woeful.
