Marchesani had wheels. When he went, he bloody went. Just really didn’t work for us but definitely could play.
I used to work with old Carlton supporter and whenever you mentioned Marchesani, he would say "Marchesani? That bloke is the reason why football grounds have fences around them".

Remember him well, was a favorite of mine. Should have had a much longer career with us. Think it was a knee injury, that

caused him a lot of grief. But, could be wrong about that. Got to meet him a few years back, he was working for one of my

bro-in-laws at the time.
His son is on the PGF Tour

Congratulations Flynn.

One of our more interesting players by role. Predominantly High half forward, but can play wing or deeper. Gets “enough” ball, but probably production is the biggest knock. Young man is determined and driven, thinking with some good mentors is one who can elevate. Has superior skills, good athleticism and good overhead. Aside from upgrading our F50 entries I feel he is the type that could elevate with a role change and become a high volume rebounding defender if deployed back there.

Interesting connection with Charlie. Curnow been living with Wilson and while ambiguous it appears Flynn has been at least a regular guest, if not in line to join the household. Hopefully having individuals he is invested in heightens Charlie’s resolve for this game and beyond.

(sorry for the intrusion)

As a big VFL follower he was my number 1 fothergil-round-mitchell medal leader as the best under 23 player in the VF and close to my favourite non Essendon VFL player

A real connector from midfield to forward line, he was averaging 1.5 goals a game, almost 3 tackles, he is a strong inside 50 connector as well.

Expect him to use his tank to play high half forward / wing and to collect 12 - 16 possessions, would love to see him kick a goal as well cause his left foot is a real weapon.

I like the idea of Young in the side. He is probably a low posession, high impact type. We have a lot of forwards who are low posession low impact types. I can see him being an upgrade on skill alone if he happens to have what it takes to perform at AFL level.
he can kick mate, and he looks for team mates

this you'll be pleasantly surprised how well he will fit into the AFL set up
