Originality. :) That's cool, but let's wait until he earns one. He may have a thousand different traits that the players pick up on. Some of them may not be mentionable. :)
If he kicks 6 to beat Port in a final, i hope we call him Icebath...

Sounds like a ripping kid.

Interesting that he didn’t think the club hid him away prior to the MSD…not as shrew recruiting as we may have thought…

If you step it out, it seems obvious it was shrewd.

He played 1 VFL game. In a position he wasn’t accustomed to. He kicked 3.1. He then gets dropped from the vfl, and 3 weeks later gets picked in the midseason draft for the afl.

Those 2 things seems completely incompatible with each other unless he was dropped to not draw attention.

And then taking Banch infront of him also a ballsy move

As I recall it was Banch vs key position forward Archie May

He comes across as very level headed, self aware and with a strong work ethic. Those are sound attributes to build a solid AFL career around. Task one establish himself in the 23. Task two start regularly. Task three keep kicking goals whilst learning his craft (I hope we keep him up front and let him nail one position). If come season end he has 20+ appearances, 15+ starts and 30+ goals we will have struck gold.

It’s likely, just interesting that he had no inkling that he was going to be picked up by north in the MSD. I know clubs rarely make commitments to potential draftees because things can change, but you’d think there would’ve been a convo with his manager to justify him going back to Blackburn.

Throughout the VFL season we dropped plenty of VFL players who were playing good footy because we had a pretty healthy injury list

What a great kid. Just goes to show it's worth investing time in lots of development pathways to find gems. Working with him over the last 2 years has led us to this point.

As our list gets a bit older they will require less hand holding and we should be able to focus more attention outwards. Maybe Nostra will even get to seem investing in Cat Bs

More scouting needs to be done for those in the 18-21 bracket who develop a little later, be it maturity or physically.

As a professional organization they should be flipping up all the rocks and doing due diligence across the board.

Not just on the top 100 prospects in the 17-18 year bracket. But also looking at those who missed out on the draft in the 19-23 year bracket and keeping tabs on them. Eg. Ben Brown
