Yes Daily mail have ramped up the label “trans Grandmother” article headings. Must still be in the dark ages.

In later articles I thought the reference had been removed.

The headlines were awful and 'trans' has not a thing to do with Gus's disappearance.

Agree is certainly doesn’t.
The articles/headlines are still out there in the media. One from 10th of Oct and one 3 days ago.

Unless someone can provide a reliable press source verifying Gus is autistic, it should be considered a rumour or speculation.
That is never gonna happen.
1. No such thing as a reliable press source.
2. Autism is a spectrum, not a specific condition. Even experts may disagree on whether a person should be classified autistic or not. Age is also a factor in diagnosis, and often especially with young people, autism and other conditions present in different ways and to different degrees, making definitive diagnosis problematic.

Oh, come on, Fair suck of the sauce bottle. Stop trying to justify your rumour mongering.

I have never read anything from a reliable, accurate source confirming Gus is autistic. Perhaps he is, perhaps not. If he is, it would be irresponsible if SAPOL didn't temper their task force and searches with that in mind. As l mentioned earlier, an autistic child will usually behave in an entirely different way when placed in an unfamiliar or threatening situation.

I'm wondering what exactly is the problem with revealing Gus's status? Surely doing so could help rather than hinder? If he has autism, FAS, ADD or any form of intellectual disability, what's the big deal in coming out with it? All this secrecy is very, very strange.

I'm hoping SAPOL is dragging this out as long as possible while they conduct their own surveillance. I wonder where little Gus is now.

I do wonder noting his age, where he lives and other detail we know, where he would have been put before a professional to undertake a diagnosis.

I'm not wedded either way, but I do wonder.

Seriously? You don't recognise a question?
Do you see the question mark? I said I THINK I READ? Not an assertion but a QUESTION. Nobody corrected me at the time. This was a month ago. Its therefore a reasonable premise. I am not the only person who mentioned it. It was reported elsewhere. Maybe true, maybe not. Do you know for a fact that Gus did not suffer from autism or are you just doing your regular thing?

Reddit perhaps?

Someone there speculated approx 4 weeks ago about it, but I don't recall a definitive answer being given there or any reference to it in any official media.

There is no secrecy because he is not autistic. You are assuming there is autism and it is being covered up.

Yes, this worries me too. Sometimes, when children are living in remote areas where services are non-existent, all sorts of their basic or special needs can be ignored for years if parents choose to, or if they decide to just manage it themselves. I have seen this many times. In turn, the child's isolation from normal child/adult social situations exacerbates the situation and it becomes embarrassing for the parents to explain when something goes wrong.

I think because he has disappeared in a remote location they haven’t revealed alot as the general public aren’t in a position to come across him. If he had disappeared in a suburban location I think it would be treated alot differently.

This happens in the city and suburbs too. Kids fall through the cracks until it's too late. Don't assume that just because people see things going on they actually do something about it.

Also although autism hasn’t been mentioned in Gus’s case, signs can be very slight in younger years and aren’t recognised which is why it’s often picked up in later years.
Many rural areas also have waiting lists of 12 months or more to see professionals re appointment and or diagnosis and many can be cautious to diagnose straight away.

So.....

Gus' father lived in another town some distance away because he clashed with one grandparent and couldn't reside in the homestead alongside that person.

He was renovating a house in that town to remove Jess, Gus and Ronnie from the homestead with the intention they'd live as a family unit in that town.

Jess and one grandparent were out working, and left Gus in the care of the other grandparent.

They eventually returned to find out Gus had disappeared, and the responsible grandparent had no idea where he was.

Presumably, the family that looked for him initially were Jess and the two grandparents, as the father wasn't notified until 'hours later' when the police woke him up.

* at this point I'm wondering why a frantic mother didn't almost immediately call her husband, the father of her child, in desperation. Do they not have mobile coverage there?

Did the responsible grandparent stay home with Ronnie whilst the other two searched, or did they take Ronnie with them?

Did they search together, or split up?

Absolutely no evidence of Gus was found on the property, and searchers also noted there were no birds of prey to indicate a body.

An indigenous tracker familiar with that specific property also found no trace.

Hmm.

So far it appears the media have only managed to get pretty limited photos of one grandparent, and maybe only one photo of dad. No photos of mum or grandmother at the property or anywhere else. In comparison to other missing children cases it can’t really be said the family have been harassed by media imo.

Yes the silence is deafening.!!!

Snakes are nocturnal . Gus the little tacker has vanished into thin air. No press conference yet from the family.
First off, what a bloody mess this is.

I especially don't like these cases where families of missing children are faceless, silent, change stories, or sit back. Doesn’t seem like normal behaviour.

As for the gun incident. Wonder if that excuse would work twice.
I dont want to enter that discussion but I feel it's highly unlikely that anyone would walk into a situation with anyone holding a gun.
From what I saw, Josie walked along the verandah specifically to talk to DM with gun in hand. Looked threatening TO ME

Josh and Jessica aren't married. They just had two children together.
