Yeah well by the sounds there was only 4 people on that property, so it's all their word against each other in regards to a snake whether it was there or not.

Jonica Bray has audio footage on her Tik Tok account of the incident and after watching/hearing that. It clearly shows that a person has huge anger problems, so it makes me wonder how unsafe was the environment for Gus in the first place.

Personally, I think the family dynamics is interesting. Shannon who reporters approached first could have easily just told the reporters to go as she had and walked away but Josie had to take control and step in.

Absolutely disgusting behavior from this reporter. How dare she approach their house when Police have specifically said no media is to approach the family. And my my she was so scared for her life when she saw the gun, that she just had to antagonize the Grandmother further by continually answering her back instead of quickly leaving!! Give me a break! What a sensationalist piece of work she is. On top of this, it appears the reporter also had a drone flying around their house!!
This is exactly why the family dont want random people wandering all over their property under the guise of helping to find Gus. The family are onboard with approved groups searching as we can see this is the third search.

The snake story doesn't pass the sniff test. A person yelling at someone to get off their property while brandishing a shotgun is clearly using that weapon as threat of violence.

The child has not been found, the search is ongoing. The area needs to treated as a crime scene would be treated, so the search and any forensics can be carried out correctly. In this day and age it’s a little naive to think that media will steer clear of doing an independent investigation of a missing child just because police tell them to stay away. Crimes and mysteries are solved by people who are not police all the time. Why should this case be treated differently?

There is no evidence of trespass. The reporter did not break any laws by entering the property, and (by all indications) left the property as soon as they were asked to do so. As far as I know the property has not been declared a crime scene and cordoned off.

Police do not normally have authority over who may or may not enter private properties. (Exceptions might include designated crime scenes). Only the owners / residents of properties may order people off them if they have a legitimate reason for being there, (e.g. to do their job).

SA Police later issued a statement saying the station was private property and media needed “express permission” to enter.

“Unfortunately, we’ve had instances in the past 24 hours where media have disregarded our instructions and entered the property without the family’s permission, causing further distress to the family,” the statement read.

“This is deeply disappointing, especially given the family’s repeated and clear wishes to avoid media engagement.”
