A sinister person e.g. abductor would just take their phone battery out IMO
If it was a planned abduction it had to be a known connection to the boy or the property - all such people should already be on police radar. Standard practice to make a list of all recent or regular visitors to the property, and all people connected to the child. They would arouse particular scrutiny if they were found to have switched their phone off shortly before the disappearance. Easy targets for SAPOL.

If it was opportunistic then that person would show up as activating or deactivating their phone in that location, if they ever had a phone active at any time in the first place of course. I guess there are some folks who don't carry around phones, or leave them switched off to they need them. But still it would need to be someone already at the property, and there's no reason to go there randomly. Had to be there for a reason.

Wouldn't think he would have gone into a dam unnoticed unless it was on the dam wall side, property looks pretty flat nothing they are more giant puddles than walled up waterways, mud would show markings. Assume all water toughs/tanks and old wells have been searched. Sheds would be the obvious location, lots of hazards and junk everywhere in old farm sheds. Would be pulling every single item out of them all.

Bring remote its almost unlikely someone has come onto the property, dust would have been visible and a car audibly heard from a long way away. So if not expected anyone would have been alerted to the sound of an engine.

I thought it was interesting that the police statement said something to the effect, that they have determined he is "not on the property". That sounds to me as if either they think he got a lot further than the boundary of the property, or IMO more likely, he was taken.

‘Read between the lines’: Grim Gus theory as search for missing 4yo in remote South Australia drags on

The former lead detective in the William Tyrrell investigation has shared his thoughts on the search for four-year-old Gus in South Australia.

Former homicide squad detective Gary Jubelin believes police are investigating the possibility of foul play in the disappearance of four-year-old Gus in remote South Australia.
Augustus “Gus” Lamont was last seen playing in the sand at his family sheep station near the town of Yunta on September 27.

The search for the boy was scaled back on Tuesday after a massive 10-day effort involving helicopters, drones and Aboriginal trackers.

Mr Jubelin, the former lead detective in the William Tyrrell investigation, has shared his thoughts on the ongoing inquiry into Gus’ disappearance.

“Children disappearing at that age is a rare event,” he told Nine’s Today show on Wednesday.

“What police would be looking for is, has the disappearance been the result of wandering off, misadventure and getting lost, or is there some form of intervention involved in his disappearance?

“I’m heartened by the fact in the last media release by the deputy commissioner of South Australia Police, they said they’re running other lines of inquiries concurrently with the search for the missing person.”

The statement showed they were looking at “all options”, Mr Jubelin said.

“What they’ve got to establish is, has Gus disappeared through misadventure or is there some form of intervention?

Jubelin could do the world a favour and not comment whatsoever in relation to any missing child case. Gees channel 9, talk about heartless 🙄

In this 7 news article it is stated that Gus's mum and grandparent's were at the property at the time Gus went missing.

The Advertiser published a story and mentioned maternal grandmother's name. If you do some digging you can find a little info for that side of the family. It's a little well ummm odd.

Left alone for just half an hour, he was gone by the time his grandmother, Shannon, returned about 5.30pm. The sun was sinking fast, slipping below the horizon at 6.16pm, and panic set in.

Can you say more about the grandmother's 'odd' side of the family?

Was little Gus playing at the property while his mother and gran were at home? Or did they leave him there on his own and returned to find him missing?

Could someone have been on the property with a small bike?
The footprint found seems to have left an imprint as though maybe a heavy foot.

Someone posted in another site about something I have also been thinking a lot about which is why I'm on here again.
The trampoline placement.
The position is an accident waiting to happen as someone who has owned trampolines. There doesn't seem to be soft fall around it and it looks way too close to the edge of what looks like a rock wall.
Did they find the spade Gus was playing with? Did he go on the trampoline and jump with the spade? Did he get caught between the trampoline and the wall?
Did he get on to the trampoline from the lawn? No footprints on the grass area.

That whole image looks dangerous. There's about 4 places in that image that look dangerous for a child.

Edit. Make that 5 places

Poor baby, I hope it’s not a William Tyrell kind of situation. One lone footprint is definitely strange.

Jason O’Connell — a former State Emergency Service (SES) volunteer — said he and his small team spent over 1,200 kilometres searching across the harsh, unforgiving Outback surrounding Oak Park Station, where Gus was last seen.

“WE FOUND NOTHING CREDIBLE. NO FOOTPRINTS LEADING AWAY, NO DRAG MARKS, NO BROKEN BRANCHES. EVEN THE WILDLIFE SEEMED TO AVOID THE AREA,” O’CONNELL RECALLED.
“THE LAND WAS SILENT… UNNERVINGLY SILENT.”
His doubts were echoed by tracker Aaron Stuart, an experienced bushman who’s helped locate dozens of missing persons across South Australia’s deserts.
He called the finding of a single footprint “highly unusual.”

Unusual from any perspective.

Couldn't really say much, but it's all out of the bag now.

What's "out of the bag now".
Apart from somebody having a sex change there is nothing new in that story.
Utter trash and shouldn't even be posted here
Sorry you feel that way, but there is a lot of new information in that article. I wasn't specifically pointing out the sex change. But it's rather alarming that Gus's dad didn't agree with his 2 children living there, along with other family members of dad's side. I also know if my child went missing I'd be ringing my partner and notifying him and not letting him know by a knock at the door.

However Mr Lamont himself lives two hours' drive away, 100km to the west in Belalia North, near Jamestown.

The Daily Mail has been told that while Josh and Jess remained a couple, he does not live on the station because of family clashes with Jess's parent, Josie.

'Josh doesn't think it's safe for the kids to be out there, it's dangerous,' a family friend revealed.

It is understood Mr Lamont only found out his child was missing when police woke him up at his home, hours after Gus had vanished.

In my experience.
Sometimes the police in these matters say "we will handle it" .
So not unusual at all.
The dad saying he didn't feel it safe, hmmm he may be a townie that wasn't ok with kids playing outdoors all day whereby dangers are numerous on farms.
The story is absolutely BS with nothing in it.

Yes it is dangerous, placement next to the retaining wall is probably so the little fella can use the retaining wall to climb onto the trampoline easier.

Its like growing up in the 70s and 80s all over again. Fun times. Much better than sitting in front of the tv or on a phone.

Personally I'd be more worried about snakes and other wildlife than any of that.

The ground looks kind of loose-ish, not fully baked hard dirt, which is surprising they didn't find more tracks or partial tracks.

Definitely potential dangers there.
Why would the family say he was playing there though and lead police to focus on that area instead of saying something like he was around the corner playing on a pile of dirt?

Could family have tried to contact Dad but he was not answering his phone for some reason. Maybe asleep or something? Why would police show up at Dad’s place to tell him?
