Pretty simple, list five positives from this season. After all the negative posts made after last night's loss, let's look back on what was, really, a great season and a great step forward for the Carlton Football Club.
- The development of our younger players; Hampson, Gibbs, Murph, Robinson, Joseph, even Russell, etc.
- Fev winning the Coleman; great effort on his part to win it for the second time AND to kick 60+ goals in year for the fifth time.
- Making the finals; i know, i know, we went out first round. But it was our goal and we acheived it. Should be proud of that.
- Beating top-quality sides; probably what we have struggled to do over the past few years. Beat sides this year of the likes of Bulldogs, Geelong, Collingwood, Brisbane and came very close to St.Kilda. There won't be too many sides next year that we won't be able to beat.
- The development of our defence; it cops a lot of criticism, but let's face it - we had Waite out for much of the year and Jamison out for much of the second half of the year. Yet in the time after Waite went down we won 9 of 14 (inc. finals) and in the time after Jamison went down we won 2 from 5 (inc. finals). Bower and Thornton, i believe, stood up well and will be great for us going forward.
