Past 5. Sam Petrevski-Seton

I hear what you're putting down, but Samo sounds like a self-starter.

Like Weiters, someone who is going to push themselves. Always focusing on breeding success. And when they fail, they try twice as hard.

Samo may come from a small, remote town, a long way from the world of afl. But he's got big time ambition and drive written all over him.
Like the 1:06 mark where he thought he should have been paid the mark and just tries twice as hard to get the ball back.

So much :blueheart::blueheart::blueheart: for SPS .......

Carlton thrilled with Sam Petrevski-Seton’s work ethic amid Rising Star nod

There are far more sides to Sam Petrevski-Seton than first meet the eye.
He’s cheeky yet respectful, raw but willing to learn, and a young man who Carlton insiders say communicates his thoughts and ideas well despite only learning English out of necessity when he moved from tiny Halls Creek to Perth as a teenager.

But one trait has particularly impressed the Claremont product’s new coaches and teammates at Ikon Park: his insatiable appetite for hard work.
“Samo’s tackle pressure and work rate around the contest give him really good opportunities to stay involved in the game,” Blues midfield coach Tim Clarke said.
“He’s got amazing skill and touch, but what we love is the fact that he works his arse off and he tackles well. That’s what you want from all your small forwards-midfielders.”

At last, after years of massive incompetence, we've finally started nailing our draft picks.

It wouldn't have mattered given the attitude and approach of the executive.
We may have 'picked' better players but would have wasted them one way or another.
We finally have the right coach, a list manager, a smart CEO and a board that at least for now, has dropped its ego.

SPS is a beauty. Nothing more to say.

some media fluff said they name there kids after which grand parent they look like...

however this guy looks far more like a Roles Royce than a Seton

Big congrats to Samo for racking up 50 games this week. This has been a serious no nonsense start to what we all hope will be the career of a champion!

here is the highlight package

Doesn't shirk a contest and is an absolute gun with ball in hand, creates time and space like no other.

if you surveyed the forwards I'd imagine they would nominate Samo as the man they want kicking it to them on the lead. Bullets, both legs...

GO Samo

From the minute this kid was drafted, everyone knew he'd be special.

Playing R1 with no pre-season in 2017, then going on to play 49 out of a possible 51 games since then - the kid is an asset to the club on and off field.

Love the way he plays and is starting to take control of games like we know he can.

Cannot wait to see his portfolio of achievements in 5-10 years.

Hope we can find a way to overcome the odds and get up for SPS this week (and for Ed's 150th last week).

He appears to be playing with more intent this year. There's very little hesitation about how he attacks the ball. Not from a contact/physicality perspective, but more a confidence to just get in and get it instead of maybe waiting for it. He seems stronger than his size as well, he moves people off the ball easier than a guy his size should.
