Well there now on a 5 game winning streak. They are looking pretty good. There 1 game out of a playoff spot sitting in 5th in the Atlantic. There 5 wins werent soft either...coming against New York, Dallas, Memphis, Miami & Houston.

Fair enough Houston and Memphis were wins they should have got and did but Miami were back to full strength barring Kendall Gill and NY and Dallas are top rate teams.

Only question remains is that the 8 teams already occupying the top 8 spots (Detroit, New Jersey, Boston, Milwaukee, Indiana, Toronto, Charlotte and Orlando) are all pretty good sides. Then there is New York & Philly who are bound to get better and challenge for spots.

Can Washington fit into the picture somewhere?

Coxon, im just wondering have you actually seen a Wizards game this year? MJ is doing a fine job of marshalling the troops, Rip Hamilton is like the second coming of Pippen kind of, he really relieves the pressure off Mike. Lue is awesome on defence, one of the best defensive guards ive seen this year, Haywood is a star in the making and they have other guys really helping out like Popeye Jones, Christian Laettner (broke his leg today against the Knicks, out for 3 weeks :( ) Brown, Hubert Davis, Tyrone Nesby, Jahidi White, Chris Whitney..

I mean i thought all these guys were useless and maybe they are but MJ has got them playing some fantastic basketball and i can see them going far. I think the Knicks may not make it this year and i think the Hornets will struggle, waiting for Mash. But i think the Wizards are in the mix.

Oh and this Haywood kid, talk about a steal, Jordan got him from Houston or somewhere before the start of the year for Laron Profit and the kid is gonna be pretty special..he has really really long arms and blocks or rebounds you think are out of reach are not for this kid. I think with Haywood and Brown, both rookies and Hamilton just his third year, there could be life after MJ for the Wizards.

Anyways i picked them for the 8th spot at the start of the year and im sticking with it. Mind you i didnt think New Jersey and Detroit would be doing this well...

nope, i havent caught a wizards game this year...

yep, always have known hamiltion to be a big scorer...
laettner will be a big loss...

where the heck is courtney alexander? he was greatly improved last season... but this yr (playing the same pos. as MJ?) has done jack all...

MJ will have them greatly improved.. but i cant see them dislodging those other teams...

NJ and the pistons... so u still have them out of the playoff race?
if not.. which teams do u think will miss out?

NJ are a class above the Wizards in all facets of the game, the Wizards are playing well but i don't think they can keep it up.

They're missing a genuine scoring 4 or 5 and their PG situation is horrible.

Cheers

Hamilton is also working hard now in practice with his rebounding and passing, trying to become more than just a scorer. Seems to be working as he is playing great. Laettner is a big loss but wont be out that long and it just gives rookie sensation Haywood more minutes. Alexander has been disappointing because he plays either 2 or 3 and with Rip and MJ playing 30+ minutes he cant find any court time. Hopefully Collins will find a way to get Alexander into the rotation as he is a great shooter.

I certainly dont have the Pistons and New Jersey out of the playoff race but i just cant see them winning there divisions. They wont play this well all year. Its tough to pick who wont make the playoffs.

Atlanta, Cleveland and Chicago seem out of it but once Theo Ratliff gets back for Atlanta they are bound to get better with Reef, Kukoc, Terry and Theo. Then Cleveland have been going alright lately and with Big Z back they should also get better. But despite that i think those three clubs are gone. The Heat are interesting, everyone seems to be working there way out of injuries except for Kendall Gill and with everyone healthy im sure they'll win more than they lose but i think the hole is too deep to climb out of.

That leaves 11 teams and only 8 spots. Book Milwaukee, Boston and Philly with spots and the rest is wide open....Orlando without Hill?? Charlotte without Mash?? New York without Van Gundy??

Its too hard to pick...

I dont think they need a scoring 4 or 5. Hamilton and Jordan are the 4th best 1 2 punch in the league scoring wise behind Kobe and Shaq, Peirce and Walker and Nowitski and Finley. Besides Haywood is really coming on and i think as the season drags on you will double doubles most nights from the kid.

PG isnt horrible. Whitney does an ok job and Lue is great defensively and is also coming along with his offence. Besides they can always play Rip at PG with Alexander at SG and Jordan at SF.

Oh yes PG is horrible, hell even Muggsy Bogues would be able to post up Lue.

They have no size or impact from the point.

How is Lue "coming along nicely with his offence"? The man is averaging 5.7 ppg and has a season high of 15

Please explain????????

You often seem to rely on stats to deride a player's ability so this is my turn.

Lue averages 5.7ppg on .352 shooting, 1.9rpg, 3.1apg, .60spg, .00bpg

Face it, he is a dud

For the amount of court time he gets he is the worst performed PG in the league

And yes i have actually seen him play at least 10 times in the last 12 months.

Oh actually his teamate Chris Whitney is the worst performed PG in the league.

He's averaging 6.8ppg, 1.4rpg, 2.9apg, .91spg

Lue and Whitney are basically the Wizards entire PG division, between them they average 6 apg

Please find me a worst performed PG division, EVER.

6 Straight ! Face it guys you doubted the man at the start of the season. Carters Raptors even after leading by 19 points couldnt beat the Wizards in Toronto. Cater didnt score in the whole second half. The Wizards are quality and they are certainly right in the playoff mix. I never doubted Jordans impact and what he could do for the club, i picked the Wizards for 8th spot come playoff time and right now im looking right on the money.

P&P - what you dont get though is that we dont need to have a strong PG division. And you watch, by the end of the season Tyrone Lue will be a chance for the most improved player award. Ive seen 4 Wizards games this year and he impresses me every time i watch him.

Lue is no dud.

When did it become WE Jod?

As usual you are talking through your arse, Lue is "one of the best defensive guards i've seen this year", what utter crap

Its always WE. The Wizards and Bulls are my teams when Jordan retires it will just be the Bulls but because the Bulls are'nt making waves i am talking about the Wizards alot.

And he is awesome defensively. You remember last year he shut down Allen Iverson in the NBA Finals??? He is so quick and sticks to guys like glue. Obviously he cant guard the big 6'4 plus guards but throw him on the smaller guys and he does a wonderful job.

P&P you really have to know more about basketball by now...**** ive been giving you lessons all season...

Geez P&P, what is it with you. You seem to have this huge problem with me. I debate with Devo in a fine matter, also with the all the 36ers fans etc etc. I dont have any problems with anyone but you always seem to have something to say to me.

The reason you have problems wih me is because you're an arrogant tryhard who knows very little about the game.

Oh and you're also a bandwagon supporter

Cheers Mate:D :D :D

I dont have problems with you, your the one with the problem against me and i think it is jealousy cos i know so much about the game, you'll just have to get over it. Bandwagon supporter??? Dont even know what you mean.

My teams are Chicago and Washington, the Wizards because my all time favourite player in MJ and the Bulls because there my team.

I don't see the Wizards as a play-off team this year. OK, where they're good they're very good (MJ and Hamilton) but if Haywood tires after the all-star break (and many rookies, especially centres do) they have Jahadi White, who probably leads the League in pizza consumption, as back up and that hurts. They are also too weak at pg and on the bench.

btw, Haywood was taded from Orlando, who may be regretting it at the moment.

You guys just cant see how good Tyrone Lue is getting....the guy gets better everygame. I think Haywood wont particularly tire. Jordan didnt in his rookie year, neither did Magic, Duncan, Iverson etc etc..plus Haywood isnt playing 35 minutes a game. He is coming off the bench behind Jahidi White.

The Wizards i think are right in the race for a spot...thats 6 straight now after Air Ball Carter...

How can you say "we" when you've followed the team for 2 months?

dont think much about Lue....
he's fast & speedy... but hasnt shown anything special..

he is more known for imitating iverson (hairstyle too), than getting lucky in game one, shutting AI down for a half after he scored 30...

LOL..god your hilarious P&P. If i was a bandwagon suppoerter id be a Lakers fan.....

The Wizards were **** before MJ, i started going for the Wizards as soon as Mike came back because he is my favourite player. Im still a Bulls man and will be once MJ retires again. Im only a Wizards supporter because of Mike. Your now just calling me a bandwagon supporter because the Wizards are winning. :)

See i chose my team in 1992, and when my all-time favourite player moved to New York i didn't just start to call them "we".

I support my TEAM, not an individual.

BTW I'm not calling you a bandwagon supporter because they are winning, just the idea of supporting two teams ishows no real passion for the game.
