With Ebert leaving number 5 is up for grabs. One would think an obvious upgrade would go to Darling but #27 speaks for itself. Smith maybe? Schofield seems to have made 31 his. Hill perhaps? Shuey?

Hill doesn't deserve it, and Shuey is determined to set some records in number 13. I can't think of anyone else.. first draft pick maybe?

I bet Darling keeps his #27 and Shuey the same with his #13.

Will go to our first draft pick you would imagine.

Can't really upgrade too much from 27 at the Eagles, there's a couple around the same mark (3, 17, 4).

There are no names on locker #13 so Shuey wants to play 100 in it and get his name there. Could you love the guy any more? I think not.

Patrick McGinnity, Stevenson, Lycett or Weedon would be the obvious but it looks likely to go to first round pick.

It seems like a number inherently associated with spuds who give their all, Morrison, Ebert or is it just me?

Well it won't be Weedon due to the fuss they made about giving him Wirra's #44 when they drafted him.

pffft. jordie matera is only a couple of years away. save it for the young bloke!
What if he wants his dads old number (30).....Im sure B.Wilson would give it up for a higher number.
He may want to get his Name under his dads on the same locker.:D:thumbsu:

I don't think Dwayne Lamb was a spud...

Nor was Tyson Stenglein

Truth is though we haven't had any out and out champions wear the No5.

Lamb would be the best to have worn it.

Yeah have to agree. Some good players, really good but not in the great league. It seems that No.5 has been worn by solid workhorses.

I don't want Darling to give up #27.
It's reminiscent of the good ol' days of Jako, one of my favourite players of all time, and Darling is one of mine now in his own right.

It's an Eagles tradition that the lowest number available goes to the first drafted in that year. Gaff got 3, Sheppard got 12, Naitanui got 9, Masten got 7 and Mitch Brown got 1.

Without a doubt it will be going to Pick #23.
