As an outsider looking in
Wallace over-estimated Richmonds list 5 years ago. (his quote was Richmond are 2 years ahead of Hawthorn)
He didnt prune hard enough.
Should have maybe spent another year down to have picked up a few more kids.
Didnt recruit well enough.
Didnt see the danger signs that what he was doing wasnt working or going to work.(Richo isnt getting younger or Brown )
He pumped up the expectations of supporters.(its nice to sell tickets but realistically for Richmond to win this years GF, would taken a double bus crash involveing the whole Hawthorn and Geelong team in September.)
It only gets harder with GC and WS.
Sheedy is a nice feel good appointment, but realy his recycling policy at Essendon was more miss than hit.
The only thing you can rely on is recruiting kids and luck,for the next few years.
Get a new coach and a new recruiting department.

"tanking"(for want of a better word) by giving young kids experience and getting rid of the old fellas who arent going to win you a flag(the kids who will get you there eventualy)>makeing 9th playing the same old average players who arent going to get you anywhere (and not being in a position to improve your stocks).

It needs a ruthless approach and supporters willing to stomach the short term pain.

I know, because when I advocated losing games at one time to get that last spot, I was torn to shreds.
But then they want the first draft picks

Since when has Richmond ever turned their season around after such a pathetic performance froars ? The Richmond you remember is long dead.

What makes me sick is the fact that this club needs to be flogged to get the fire in the belly, sure we will come back this week take it up to the cats and most probably just lose, everyone will be glad we showed character...character my arse, character would have been the club knowing at Qtr time on thursday night we needed to lift and we were in serious trouble, then work their arses off to get back in the match.

Its the same every god damn year and its a joke, we eat coaches up at Punt Road and spit them out, we cleaned out the list (this is what Terry has done and is why I thought things may change) except its done sweet FA and the same problems exist. Is that because Terry is good a clearing out a list but no good at actually developing it?

I dont understand how Carlton were rated more than us going by last years results but they are and they were right, is there something others see that we are clearly missing? I was so excited to get stuck into 2009 and that performance has now sat me back on my arse, I feel stupid that good ol Richmond sucker punch has me on the canvas one more time.
