I think it would be cool to be able to play in other leagues too.

Features such as create-a-player, online mode and an in-depth season mode would be great but at the moment I'd settle for some solid game mechanics and decent graphics.

Anyone got any ideas for the new AFL game next year(hopefully) that they would like to see in the game..?
I would like to see New comps i.e. VFL,WAFL,SANFL,NTFL,QLDAFL,NSWAFL
I reckon that would be awesome....and a more in depth career mode....press conferences etc...

I wouldn't get your hopes up about this happening, with the resources and money which would be probably be available to them then this won't be included in the next version.

overall improvements to the crappy gameplay.

Make it easier to mark, much easier
Change the rules so you cant stand next to the computer when they're kicking for goal and smother/bump them out of the way.
For handballs to actually go to your player instead of into space every time
The ability to run with the ball instead of being tackled straight after you pick it up
Change to the holding the ball rule (disgraceful)

Changes to the commentary
Improve the graphics tenfold

Why not just scrap the old game and do a completely new one? If the new company does that and makes this game better I will be a happy man

Perhaps have a more dynamic camera system including a button you can press to look up field longer on the fly, although this gets awkward in multiplayer if the camera swings around to 3rd person veiw behind the player too often.

A Madden style passing system would be good too but would be hard to show it on the screen without making it look scrappy. Perhaps the old arrow system just needs a tune up.

One of the biggest problems with the last few games has been the unnatural running style especially when changing direction.

Much better ball physics is need as well.

An idea for the marking system:
- in a contest make the marking system a simple timing contest between forward and defender. Obviously if the forward has better speed/leading stats, started infront of his defender and got a perfect kick it would be very hard for the defender to spoil it without giving away a free kick.
- have another button in the marking contest be a body contact button (perhaps the right stick can be positioning)

Study what teams do to win generally and make sure that if you do those things in the game you have a good chance of winning.

These are just some rough ideas, I might come up with a more detailed post defining how I'd ideally like the game.

hopefully they have a Be A Pro mode like the Fifa games, and they need to figure out a way to make running and leading towards the ball much smoother. Also around the contests it need's to be harder to clear the ball unlike the other games where you just tap the ball down snap the ball and it will hit your FF on the chest every time. I'd like to see some sort of one on one duals between FF and FB maybe a button pops up on screen that you have to press quickly to move your body into good position.
