It's not a pity party, it's just acknowledging that he seems like a good bloke who took a challenge on and it didn't pay off - but he retained his composure and integrity throughout. You can feel sorry that it didn't work out, and wish him well on the way out, if you want to stay classy.

Don't feel sorry for him necessarily but Grundy is a first class guy. Had a couple of interactions with him pre-Dees days, and he was amazing with the kids and fans. From all reports from Pies fans I know, they have nothing but praise.

Davester on Facebook rolling with the "several great players" (Bedford, Jackson, Hunt) going out, and an "unproven player" (Grundy) coming in.

Turn out Davester couldn't have been more correct. Bedford and hunt had career seasons and Jackson made the AA squad. Meanwhile, Grundy was a crab.
