Its kind of surreal. I never thought Joe would ever want to leave. Certainly 2 years ago I was sure that he would finish his career out in Essendon colours and perhaps have a career to rival that of Lloyd's. Ah well these things happen sometimes.

False.
He was in Sydney seeing his surgeon (whom he indeed saw the next day - it was a genuine trip).
Essendon didn’t know about the Harley meeting until after it happened.
He had surgery in Sydney and was up there multiple times after. Who knows how many times he met with the Swans.
He didn’t inform Essendon of wanting a move until this week.
At some point Harley (and others) have sold him the idea of living in Sydney and it sounds pretty good to him at the moment.
What do you mean "his options were to give the game away or Essendon"?Essendon did know about the Harley meeting before it happened.
His options were give the game away or Essendon. He told EFC + a few players exactly this.
Again, just what I heard, not trying to rile anyone up.

Was Joe's contract front loaded? A few players that have their contracts front loaded Ablett, Beams and Fantasia of the top of my head decide to renege on their contract in the final year or two as they have already received most of the money. Players screwing their clubs after receiving the majority of the contract and signing for more money elsewhere. Dogs act.
Mitchell was clearly best 22.I respectfully suggest you re-watch the 2016 Swans again - he was always best 22.
In any event, people can pontificate all they want - any potential deal will be done between Essendon and Sydney, and not on BigFooty. Sydney have a reputation for being fair traders (refer again to the Mitchell deal), and Essendon will need to have the same mindset in order to move past square 1.
Tim Kelly mkIIIm expecting a long drawn out negotiation with a heap of s**t flung at the club but mainly dodoro and the trade not to happen in the end. Then we will go through it again in 12 months time.

You've gone from asking us if it was true or false to telling us it happened.Essendon did know about the Harley meeting before it happened.

That's fairer IMO.Seems about right to me. Maybe they can throw Howard our way too.
Ungarie's only a five hour drive to Sydney. Joe knows what Sydney's about. I don't doubt that they would have spruiked its benefits though. It’s not.
But you don’t have to believe me, I’m just a bloke on the internet.
JD was asked by the club about the meeting and said he was just catching up with a friend. Which who knows, maybe he was.
But I’d say there’s little doubt they discussed footy and life, none of which JD is too satisfied with right now.

Should definitely ask the question of GWS and Joe. Cameron/Daniher pairing would be scary, and they are in the window. Richmond miss in 2018 so go and get Lynch and he was the difference in 2019.Ungarie's only a five hour drive to Sydney. Joe knows what Sydney's about. He has only mentioned the Sydney lifestyle though. In my view that means we should also be talking with GWS.
Part of me would prefer to talk with GWS for spite, but that would be unwise and unprofessional.Should definitely ask the question of GWS and Joe. Cameron/Daniher pairing would be scary, and they are in the window. Richmond miss in 2018 so go and get Lynch and he was the difference in 2019.
The club is not going to let Joe walk out for nothing. Sydney obviously think he can get over the OP with the reported offer they have tabled. I think we will hold firm with his value. If Sydney don't come to the table, it opens the door for GWS. I am sure they will ask the question.
FWIW, I think GWS are in the flag window next few years where as Syd are not IMO.
Anything can happen. Buddy was a lock for GWS, then Swans "stole" him at the last minute.

Joe is a huge upgrade on himmelberg/Finlayson.GWS would be stupid to get joe in imo
