Agreed. Rick Barry 4th best free throw % in NBA history. Shot it like a bucket shot. I don't care if he sissor kicks it over his head just as long as he kicks 65+%
I'm not fussed about the snaps, but it comes back to why he's doing it. If he doesn't have confidence from 20m directly in front, where most on this board would slot 10/10, where's his head out for the rest of his shots?Am I the only one that really doesn't care how he kicks goals as long as they go through? He could be kicking the ball over his head and I wouldn't care as long as he was slotting 60 to 70 per cent of them. If kicking around the corner achieves that then I wholeheartedly approve of it.
This idea that there is one way of doing things correctly appears pretty archaic to me.
As a Dons supporter, absolutely.Well, it's never boring with him at least. Probably the most entertaining player in the comp for mine
His ability to fly for a mark sets him apart from everyone else.
There is not one forward in the AFL that I would want to build a forward line around for 2017 in place of Daniher.
As good as Lynch, Kennedy, Cameron, Hogan and Moore are and can be Joe has the highest ceiling of them all.
I think he can be better than Lloyd
I reckon Lloyd might be the most underrated champion of the last 20 or so years. Daniher way behind at the same age.

needs lloydy back imo.
was slotting him with him in his ear
I became a Lloyd critic later in his career. But even then I felt most of the fading happened as a result of the broken leg and the hammy.Their careers are following opposite trajectories.
Daniher was always going to take 4 to 5 years before he could start playing the footy Lloyd was capable of as a 19 year old. It will be the middle 6 to 8 years of their careers that will determine who is better (and Daniher is going to have to get moving next year - and I think he will).
It will be interesting to see if the slow burn that has been the earlier part of Daniher's career will benefit him in the long run because Lloyd faded earlier than expected (and contrary to belief it was all to do with him and nothing to do with Knights).
That I'm saying that Daniher could be better than Lloyd is not about underrating Lloyd, it's simply a reflection of how highly I regard Daniher's ability. Some of the marks that he has been taking are nothing short of ridiculous. I can't think of any player close to his size how can launch himself at a mark like Daniher can.
The combination of his size and athleticism will make him the most difficult match up of any of the current key forwards. You're basically asking for someone to play on a slightly less powerful Franklin that can jump and mark.
Like I said. Eliminate all muscle memory - what better way than kicking right foot. So far I think he's one for one.Needs to start from scratch.
Needs a routine
Needs to fix run up,
Needs to fix ball drop,
Needs to fix confidence.
In that order, and confidence only comes from kicking goals in games. Fixing the routine, run up and ball drop needs to come this pre-season. If Lloyd won't come get Fevola.
What he said made sense though. Get the best kicking coach money can buy and spend a decent chunk of the preseason working on it. All his athletic attributes and contested marking ability are just a waste if he can't reliably convert his shots on goal.Lloyd said in AAA that he wouldn't be coming back to the club to help Joey.
I had a dream last night that Jacko had a crack at me for being out of shape. If the dream is anything to go on he can be pretty motivating.Get Jacko and stop pretending with these false alarmers

I want JD to pay for his own goal-kicking coach - Make it separate from the club.

Mind over matter. Was watching Todd Sampson at the AIS on some show about stuff like this. Biggest problem with the modern footballer and shots on goal is the lack of time allowed to players to slow their heart rate before having a shot. Specialised training could improve it from that perspective. It won't make much difference unless we also invest in a psychologist. Goal kicking problems of this nature always have a psychological aspect.
