But we know some do on occasion and if there's talk about mental strain due to fan expectations given what he's gone/is going through, it just makes me think about some of the crap people post here and how that would make me feel if it was about me.I'd hope no player does.

Yep. They're just working their way through a list and linking back to their previous clickbait to farm more clicks whenever possible. It's really quite disgusting and nobody should be falling for it these days.It feels like they're looking for a reason to justify a trade
"Joe wants to leave"
Joe goes on TV and says he's not leaving
Worsfold goes on radio and says Joe is contracted and we want him and he's staying
Rutten goes on radio and says Joe is contracted and staying
Campbell goes on radio and says Joe is contracted and staying
"Joe wants to leave because his family says he does"
Dan Richardson tells reporters outside the club that he's contracted and staying
Joe's dad goes to an event and says Joe is staying
"Joe wants to leave because he has a problem with the medical department"
Report comes out stating the exact opposite, that we've been flying him around the country to meet every specialist in pursuit of an answer and Joe speaks very highly of it
And now... "Joe has lost the motivation to play" and wants a trade so he can play somewhere else?
It's story after story in pursuit of a story at this point. Throw enough s**t some will stick I guess.
I always forget about fb and Twitter as I'm not on them much (well fb at all) but from what I've seen they are much worse given there's pretty much zero moderation as I understand it.Hit the nail on the head. Without fail every loss there's people on social media screaming for blood and stating the whole team needs to be sacked. No wonder mental health is becoming such a prevalent issue among AFL players, it's the fans and media that are causing it.

Proof that anyone can be a sports journalist.Joe Daniher’s injury issues not a factor in potential trade from Essendon
Joe Daniher won’t be leaving Essendon due to the management of his injury issues in the past two years, however speculation he wants a move to Sydney won’t go away.

Joe Daniher’s decision over his future has nothing to do with Essendon’s management of his debilitating groin injury.
The Herald Sun understands Daniher’s complex problem goes back as far as the second half of 2017 — the year the key forward was named All-Australian and the Bombers’ best and fairest.
It’s been widely reported that Daniher had issues with Essendon’s medical department, but the player is full of praise for the club, which has flown all over Australia and consulted several specialists in a bid to find a solution.
After playing hurt for more than two years, the talented tall has recently made progress and is hopeful of receiving more good news from medical experts in the coming fortnight.
Yet insiders said Daniher, 25, had “gone to hell and back” as he underwent “really uncomfortable and really painful” treatment in an attempt to regain full-fitness.
The long haul has not only challenged Daniher physically, but also mentally.

He has fought an at-times losing battle to maintain desire and motivation as his circle of friends and family rallied around him.
He has felt the weight of letting his Essendon teammates down, which has led to him regularly playing injured over the last two years.

Daniher has managed only 11 senior appearances in the last two seasons, but while the unique injury is said to involve a multitude of factors, there’s fresh hope he can start pre-season training pain-free and on schedule.
The trade period opens on October 7, with speculation raging that Daniher will request a trade to Sydney.
Daniher has a year to run on his contract at Essendon.

Hey Joe, where you goin' with that gun of yours?
I know I couldn't put up with being paid millions of dollars if it meant people on an online forum that I could switch off at any time wrote nasty things about me.Imagine being told every time you lose by hundreds of people how you suck, you need to be desisted, you should never play again, you'd struggle to make VFL etc. Welcome to the life of a modern day footballer.
Why would that be an incentive?Wondering if Joe and management looking at option of sitting out last year of his contract? Therefore avoid a third breakdown on the field and be RFA and hope to secure long term deal. That way he avoids the risk of breaking down again, becomes uncontracted and no value/suitors.
