Taken straight from the clip of Dan Richardson that’s freely available on the essendon website by the look of it.
Didn't the full quote say something far less decisive, like "At this stage, to the best of our knowledge he’ll be playing for Essendon next year"

I guess the issue here is that Daniher hasn't come out and said it's bulls**t and he'll be at Essendon next year. Instead we got all these cagey comments like "I'll be here if they want me" and "As far as we know he'll be here next year" which leave a lot of room for speculation.
And for Sydney to keep pouring unofficial fuel on the fire.

Gotta be leaving the door open to both in case the deal don't get done. Why else the silence. Why else would friends and family be saying one thing and Dad the other. Loves the club so wouldn't be ok with us getting short changed. I can't see him leaving us a bitter taste. His dads comments might point to negotiations breaking down..

He is going to Sydney, any rumours about Collingwood is fake news.
I'm getting a little dizzy. He's going, he's staying, he's going, he's staying... I mean last I heard Anthony Daniher had said publicly that he's staying so is there a reason to believe the opposite again or are we harking back to earlier rumours that paraphrase from unnamed sources?

Would Anthony be silly enough to say he's going knowing if a deal wasn't made it would place Joe with a tail under his legs?

Until Joe states he's staying or signs an extension these rumours will persist, even into next year. Essendon would be stupid to offer an extension of worth though until he proves he has overcome OP.

From personal experience, if I don't know the answer to something, I don't pretend to know and spout it off as inside knowledge; I keep my lips shut and my ears and eyes peeled.

No.

Joe Daniher’s injury issues not a factor in potential trade from Essendon
Joe Daniher won’t be leaving Essendon due to the management of his injury issues in the past two years, however speculation he wants a move to Sydney won’t go away.

Joe Daniher’s decision over his future has nothing to do with Essendon’s management of his debilitating groin injury.
The Herald Sun understands Daniher’s complex problem goes back as far as the second half of 2017 — the year the key forward was named All-Australian and the Bombers’ best and fairest.

It’s been widely reported that Daniher had issues with Essendon’s medical department, but the player is full of praise for the club, which has flown all over Australia and consulted several specialists in a bid to find a solution.
After playing hurt for more than two years, the talented tall has recently made progress and is hopeful of receiving more good news from medical experts in the coming fortnight.
Yet insiders said Daniher, 25, had “gone to hell and back” as he underwent “really uncomfortable and really painful” treatment in an attempt to regain full-fitness.
The long haul has not only challenged Daniher physically, but also mentally.

He has fought an at-times losing battle to maintain desire and motivation as his circle of friends and family rallied around him.
He has felt the weight of letting his Essendon teammates down, which has led to him regularly playing injured over the last two years.

Daniher has managed only 11 senior appearances in the last two seasons, but while the unique injury is said to involve a multitude of factors, there’s fresh hope he can start pre-season training pain-free and on schedule.
The trade period opens on October 7, with speculation raging that Daniher will request a trade to Sydney.
Daniher has a year to run on his contract at Essendon.
