This is a big call, but I think if we don't make this at the turn, we are underachieving. Any way you want to look at it, we should win the next two games. We are streets ahead of Essendon and Carlton on form and talent, losses will be unacceptable. It's all well and good to say we're inconsistent, but there has to be some expectation on our team, you can't just keep saying close enough is good enough. Even if we'd lost to St Kilda I would still expect us to have won these.

On a brighter note, assuming we do go 7-4, I think 13-9 or 14-8 is a reasonable target for year's end, looking at our draw.

The next 2 weeks will be our big test.

ok, i'll go the other way

we are crap, no forwards, centre ageing and backline overated i dont think we will win another game this year

that'll guarantee at least 8 wins

We might be in better for and have more talent than the 2 sides mentioned BUT form can turn qucikly and you don't win on talent alone.

I expect us to win the next 2 and we should go in as favourites however, as I have said many times before, this year you will see us win games that we are not supposed to win and lose those that we are favourites in. I expected inconsistencies and I think its panning out that way. We face huge danger games in the next 2-3 weeks and as I said a number of times before if we are 6-5 at the half way mark I would be stoked.

I don't think I'll have enough money to come over for the game next week against Carlton, but hopefully I'll have enough to get over for the Essendon game. I haven't been to AAMI Stadium for a few years and really can't wait. :D

Is your avatar a picture of Pickett dashing to his car after a binge session?

See, that isn't funny.
I think it's funny that you are all getting carried away with one win.

That's too bad.

I think it's funny that Port Power are returning to their rightful place as the joke of the competition after their loser supporters were harping on and on about how they were going to go back to back.

I think it is funny you are so obsessed with the Crows, your presence here makes us all feel warm and fuzzy.

Actually it is funny. Pickett deserves completely to be the butt of such jokes for such a pathetic vile act as drink driving, he is absolute bloody scum and deserved far worse than he got. A disgusting example for child supporters.

And no, it's not just because he's Port. I feel the same about Ronnie Burns doing it when part of our club. However, this is Pickett's SECOND offence for the same sort of thing - accident while drink driving. ABSOLUTE scum. He should have gone to jail. I have NO remorse for repeat drink drivers.

Don't defend him, because there is no defense for pathetic pieces of sh** like that. Wait till someone you know gets hit by a drunk driver then maybe you won't feel like defending them.

Certainly matches up with this expectation. So what has caused this change in heart?

Note when that was posted maybe? First quarter? And I stand by it completely. The first quarter was exactly as I described in that post.

And how does that AT ALL relate to the quoted post anyway?

Speaking of 7-4

What is the best win-loss at the halfway point of the season in Crows history?

Our best record over 22 rounds is 13-9, for both '97 and '98.

I'm wondering what the Crows were at round 11 in those years, and what their best ever half-way-point record is?

Anyone?

Re: Speaking of 7-4

8-3 in 2002 is our best record at the halfway mark. We finished 15-7 in that year which is our best H&A season and highest year end ladder position, 3rd.

We were 7-4 at the midpoint of the 1997 season after starting 2-4.

You are correct Dave. My memory must be failing me.
