Butler is extremely quick, much quicker than Castagna.

I think you'll find there are a few on the selection committee and there were last year. For all you know, Dimma wants him to play and keeps getting out-voted at selection....

Pretty easy to jump to conclusions that suit your own way of thinking and then passing that off as fact.

Here are some facts though if he gets picked:

1. If he plays round 1 it's because the selection committee think he is ready
2. Butler must be training well because he hasn't played so well that he demands selection (a la Miles in 2014)

Well I'm pretty sure Hunt is playing round 1. Not too sure how (maybe he's the designated lock down defender) but he's played all 3 jlt games so it gives a a pretty good idea

Designated turnover merchant.... I'm just not seeing how he plays. Surely McIntosh comes back in and possibly one of Markov/C.Ellis... no room for Hunt? Please

Am certainly aware there are others to Dimma on the selection committee, but thanks for the meaningless heads up. Not sure what your point is with the rest.

Never intended to claim unknowns as facts. I see I left out one important and intended word - the "IF" prior "it means...." I apologise for my 4th form grammar.

So you know there are others on the committee but just chose to single out DH.... interesting.
You left out a word that completely changes the context of what you wrote and then are surprised it's taken the way you wrote it :drunk:

Don't be surprised on here if people respond about what you ACTUALLY write, rather than what you 'meant' to say. There are no mind-readers on here (actually there are a few that think they can :thumbsu:).
 
Butler is quick, but not as quick as White. White is/was seriously speedy.
I'm just glad we are getting some speed back into the squad.

No very interesting I'd suggest. Mountains and molehills more likely.

6586 posts - no errors? I hope my next 6470 are nearly as good.

Not surprised at all. I get the sense most ask first rather than finger point. Could be wrong. All my posts about Dan have been couched the way that we can only comment on what we see and guess about what we don't. Been neither support nor detractor - way too early to be for me. Still think you presumed too much about my post for those comments, but it's one poster in whirlwind. All good. Thanks for your feedback.

Ha, not a chance I haven't made errors... hence the advice :thumbsu:

Agree on Butler... too early to tell. Love him to get some game time when games are meaningful.... not token games once season is shot (should that happen).

Too early to tell on Butler is correct.
Didn't show much in the Twos in two years, so wait for the real stuff to start to see how he goes.
But appears he is on the up.

I agree. I think Lennon will play because we still need a 3rd tall, who can take a mark, and who is not just a small. That mean Lennon, Griff and Jack are in, with Edwards and Lloyd in as well. That means the true smalls will be out of Rioli, Castangna and Butler. Rioli is a lock but they all cant fit.

So It could be -??????, Griff, Rioli
Lennon, Jack, Lloyd

Edwards running of the bench perhaps. So where does Castagna and Butler fit in?

Daniel Butler is as quick if not faster than Matt White with very very good endurance and agility, He is also a better natural footballer with better defensive ability. Kid needs to get to 30-40 games

Think of players like Luke Dahlhaus & Jason Johannisen from the doggies, Its only 2015 they started to show what they can do when they turned 23 and games under their belts.

Butler would have already played 15-20 games by now if he wasnt injured when drafted , The kid has started behind from the start but im very confident he will be a player
 
Butler is faster than any of them on the field, maybe on the track as well.

But the track is a different conversation.

If Matt White was anything... It was one of, if not THE fastest players in the league. Butler is quick, but I don't think he's 'Matt White' quick

Short isn't quite but has 2.97 20m and it's too bad big Reece couldn't make it work as his 20m 2.87

Just to add

Trent Cotchin - 2.97
Dustin Martin - 2.87
Josh Caddy - 2.91
Callum Moore - 2.91

Also repeat sprint times (Rioli posted 24.15 and Markov 24.32 so you get an idea)

Dion Prestia - 24.15
Mabior Chol - 24.30

These are results as 18yr olds so they've improved.

Those are the ones I know but have heard Conca was faster then Deledio over 20m as well.

Conca was only faster over 20m when they were headed out for burgers. That stat is laughable!
