I went along Friday night and you could see him putting himself into a chain of play 30 or 40 meters off the ball with gut running. Then watched the replay last night and thought he had very clean hands didn't seem to fumble much at all. Looks as though he's had a very big preseason.
 
He reminds me of Foley when he was faster around 2007-8 but with better kicking

dont know if he will find the ball as much as Foley did though

Needs to do a lot more to be compared to Foley from those years. One swallow does not make a summer, or some shit like that.

I can just imagine how much all the speedsters will push each other to for the title of fastest. It will benefit the team heaps.....

He seems to be an unusually good kick when at full pace

Rioli just is so smooth looks like he's cruising

The run that rioli did on the wing near the end of the match, he started 8 metres behind the two crows players and ended up 3 metres ahead of them by the time he kicked it

Wouldn't use that passage of play as an example of Rioli being faster, given 1) Butler had the ball and 2) Butler was in the process of receiving the ball whilst Rioli was accelerating.

Thing I like about Rioli is that he is bloody hard to tackle. It's like that video of the lizard that has all those snakes wrapped around him and then he miraculously slides out and guns it.

He wasnt hard to tackle last year, he was easily wrapped up so often, this season he appears remarkably stronger and seems to be standing up in tackles much better.

He must be a bloody hard worker do what he has done in only year 2

Another one in the lead up to Nanks goal, Rioli started with it on HBF, gave it to Grigg blasted past him offering a handball option and kept going all the way and was the first person to Nank after Caddy. Just cruised the 150-200m!

If butler was bouncing it maybe but they were both going full pelt. I'd back Rioli in a race.

Not that it matters but Butler did take a bounce and certainly wasn't running at full pelt. This is Butler running at near on full pelt.



Rioli would have the faster cruising speed though.
 
There was a comment made by the commentary team on fox that was mentioned that

George and Butler live together and have races at home which made me laugh


First time i seen Dan Butler there was something very very Ben Cousins like about him and im not talking about the white patch under his nose either
