79-Car Pileup in Texas
Heavy fog, a marsh fire, and morning driving. Seem a harmless enough morning. But, clearly it wasn't.
Along Highway 73, 130km from Houston 79-cars were involved in one of the largest scale road accidents the world has ever seen. Miraculously, however, absolutely nobody was killed. However, 54 people were injured, three of those critically injured, and another suffered a heart attack.
Along with that statistic, another 18 drivers were given tickets for a variety of offenses unrelated to the incident at hand.
The original report, according to FOX News Radio, was in fact for a four car pileup. Though, probably due to low visibility by the time emergency workers arrived at the scene at least another 50 cars had found themselves tangled in the pileup, including one semi trailer.
A similar incident a few years earlier on the same stretch of Highway left seven dead.

There is no explanation ever that will make me understand how 79-cars can be involved in this.
