Pretty sure during the COVID years, 7 & Fox combined for that with the WBBL. I feel it would only happen with Women’s Internationals or WBBL since they probably don’t care about the ratings with those matches.

With Men’s tests & BBL it’s all about the ratings etc

Whatever one thinks of standard of commentary and coverage on the respective TV broadcasts, thank your lucky stars neither 7 or Fox brought Kevin Pietersen and his word salad mixed with verbal diarrhoea out for the Ashes. I've been watching some of the SA20 and he's as painful to listen to as ever.

7 had him for Test 3 commentary and has been doing other stuff for Test 4 & 5. I guess they don’t want to have 2 expert commentators from the visiting team.

Tuffers also has been part of 7 coverage for different segments not commentary. Swann also has been on 7 and Botham

For me 7 has been using the UK personalities in their coverage a lot while Fox is just sticking with their Fox people only. Which is disappointing given Fox is the host broadcaster

Yeah but Fox only have him and Isa Guha. 7’s commentary line up is Mitchell & Broad but they have used the others for other parts of the coverage.

I think in total 7cricket has had 6 England voices - including Mitchell who is permanent member while Fox is just 2

Got an observation about Warner that I assume almost all will disagree with.

His commentary on cricket is actually very insightful. He clearly gets the game and has a very deep understanding of batting - which we probably should expect of somebody with nearly 9000 test runs.

His problem is he has the voice of a 13yo nuffy so you just switch off and think 'he's a moron".

If you actually listen to what he says on cricket, there's a lot of gold in there.

Warner is nothing like Underwood. Kellie is terrible to listen to and she demonstrates she has little idea about the nuances of the game.

Dave Warner is terrible to listen to, but he's does have a very good knowledge of the game especially batting.

Michael Hussey was similar in commentary. His voice was terrible to listen to, but he'd say some really smart things.

Before the Sydney Test, Athers was talking about his hundred at the SCG in 1991 and acknowledged it was a boring, sloe innings which opened the gate for Nasser to say "you really didn't need to add that bit about it being slow and boring".

Half of being a commentator is being able to complete a sentence.
Id be fine with him if it was just his voice but he also intersperses his obvious knowledge of batting with some really dumb stuff. He said today Stokes had had a great series ffs
