Some of the games had been repeated about 5 times. It was about time they moved on to something different.

Maybe they can't due to some arrangement with AFL Films/Sports Delivered. But surely they have a massive catalogue of games they can choose from? Even if they were just random H&A games from the 90's would be better than nothing.

Maybe they have to pay a fee to show games. That would be a bit strange though. I know there was some issue with the rights to footage around either 2002 or 2007 when the rights changed hands. But considering they were showing old finals, old Grand Finals and random H&A games (like the one I mentioned R10 1999 Melb v Freo among others) I would assume they would have the right to show any game for which they still had footgae? Otherwise why would they be able to show some games and not others? Similarly with Foxtel who show the odd game here and there. The toher day they showed the "Line In The Sand" match and prior to that a game from R1 1998 between NM & WCE. It would be a bit strange if they were only allowed to show certain games from their catalogue and not others.

what they should do during the season is play a classic match featuring matchups that are going to take place for the upcoming round... 7 of the 8 matchups for each round would be covered, 1 per night, (any game involving Gold Coast would obviously not).

Best way to do that is to go through the match of the day for each round (decided by ladder position) and find a game from year's past (and not the last 10!! - there's some really good 70's and 80's stuff!)
the gold coast games COULD be represented by, oh i dunno, CAJ. therefore every week show a recent geelong game against whoever, and super impose a yellow guernsey onto GAJ every time he's in shot.![]()
MONDAY: 1993 Pre-Season GF, ESS vs RICH

Bad news....looks like they're going to put Coronation Street and Movies on after Jan 30.
