Davey is a deadset gunBTW, how do u guys rate him against Jetta at this early stage?

Well ahead of Jetta ATM, but then is 4 or so years older, so you would expect Davey to be ahead.
On a side note, Davey only has one tackle today. I think he plays better in tandem with Jetta, so there is 2 lost of pressure on the opposition.

Davey clearly ahead of Jetta but yes age is a factor.
He may of only been listed for one tackle but his effort was still there and he had alot of non statistical pressure like his smother scrag near the boundary and then lunge for the ball that won him the free.
he is a gun. a major positive this year. not much else to celebrate so far.

Very good player. He is damn quick. I was impressed. Great goal too!
Haven't watched heaps of footy this year but every time I have glanced at a Bomber game I notice a little aboriginal jet. Looks like a real find for u guys.

do his performances so far indicate that he's even better than a gun?
or is he even better than one of the best new players in the league this year? (considering that other first year players have higher possession, goal, tackle, and effectiveness stats than him, i'm pretty curious)
davey is a little goer though - he'd be very welcome in hawthorn's forward line, and was great value at for an early 3rd round pick. has a good future.

Davey has ben far better than any other first year player this year. Just out of curiosity, who do you think has been better?
I think he will be a gun. He is better than his brother, and it is almost accepted that he is (or was before this year) one of the best small forwards in the league.
Also, he adds so much to our team. His addition to the forward line this year has added the forward pressure we have been lacking since the retirements of Mercuri and Bewick.

hawkins and gibbs are up in the same bracket as davey so far, and maybe one or two i've missed.
not arguing for a second that davey hasn't been a very pleasant surprise for the bombers so far this year, but it's good to keep things real.
There really isnt any better debutant this season than Davey. Would love to read your example though.

Hawkins has been nowhere since his sensational opening 2 games and Gibbs is only going through the motions a kid his age does. Davey has not only burst onto the scene, but consistently applied his trade through kicking goals and pressure. Davey at the moment would be in front by a street.

Selwood has been solid, i'll agree with that, but i'd rather Davey in a heartbeat.

Certainly love seeing him accelerate away from opponents with that smirk but would like to see him and jetta breaking up more packs. It's like watching a cheetah after a gazelle when he chases down lumbering KPPs for tackles, but some more strength in pulling them down and winning the ball would be great!
Even after seeing him really come on in the second half of last year for the mighty Panthers, i'm surprised at how well he has started his rookie year.
He'd probably he in the top 7 or 8 of your b + f at this stage.

It's not as though he has had a couple of good games, the kid has been consistant. Just what you need from a new player coming through.
Whoever found and drafted him needs a pay rise the kid is a jet and only gonna get better. Good to see positive stories like this for a change.
