Not Hall, Prendergast.

Club gets money for every hit on the site, so I won't quote it all, here is the link.

Article

This was interesting though:

"Jack Trengove and Tom Scully are the top end blokes," he says about the two players tipped to be top-three selections come November, therefore bringing them into Melbourne's calculations.

Butcher seems to be slipping down the pecking order IMO.

Yeah, Butcher has slipped after an underwhelming carnival. I wouldn't totally discount him yet, as there are reports he was playing injured. If he can finish the season well at TAC Cup level, and perform nicely at the draft camp, he may still be a chance.

Scully in #1, no doubt.

Trengove is firming as #2, but that is far from certain.

It would be nice if Swallow was eligible this year, as he and Scully would form an epic combination. Still, there are some really impressive players avaibale at pick 2 this year, so we'll do well either way.

Vey interesting article. Thanks for the link Bartram Class. Scully is a lock at number 1 but it seems it is wide open for pick 2 at this stage. Do we know what the strategy will be at this stage (best available or will they take our needs into consideration)?

There is a long way to go and I don't think you can rule Butcher out. I heard if he was eligible last year he would have gone top 5. If he can impress towards the back half of the season/finals in the TAC Cup he can come back into contention for top 3.

Still think that while Scully might be our number 1, he may not be No.1 for the Weagles if they succeed in out-tanking us for the first PP (by leaving out Kerr & Cox and getting thrashed in every game while we beat Freo and one more to be equal with them on four wins but with a better percentage). They're more likely to take Morabito or Lucas IMO. Scully is a lock at number 1 only if we get number 1, which we should.

My point is that even if he's not number 1, we should get him anyway (unless we defy every law of nature & win 3+ which won't happen).

The only choice we need to make about Scully IMO is the number on his guernsey!

Scully goes no1, no doubt about it.

Lucas, when playing WAFL, hasnt been overly impressive, I really
doubt that WC take him no1.

Morabito, whilst a fine athletic prospect - has a tendency to go missing
in games, hard to take him at no1, on potential alone, when you have
a bloke like Scully there for the pickings.

Scully goes no1, barring a miracle, even had the chance to hear him
speak on that show last sat - and he even speaks better than most
AFL players already, WC will win another game at least.
