Reading all the posts about the possible futures of players such as Schmack, Craig, Sellar - made me think there may be an alternative to either trading these young potential KPPs or leaving them to rot in the SANFL.

Coupled with Tipp's drop in form at FF and question marks over our second ruck, maybe NC could play Tipp in the ruck.

Setup: E-van and Tipp sharing ruck (I think Tipp is probably close to our best ruck anyway) - both capable of "resting" forward to add that second string to their bow.

Tex at FF, with options available for CHF in Sellar or Scmack (or even Davis?). Mobile forward options from Gunston or Henderson. HFF with Porps and Knights.

Take your pick for another small forward.

Maybe...a good idea, but don't write Tipp off just yet. IMO the way they have been delivering the ball to him has been off this last month. Its either a contested mark against 3 or nothing. Good signs on the weekend, worth staying with Maric and Griff for a bit.

The other thing is Smack and Sellar really having been burning it up yet and need to show something more. Corey Junior has kicked more goals and if we had to pick one it would be him. Fab Phil could be another, but hasn't really had a chance at CHF to show what he has got. I think Tex Walker could develop into a CHF. Booming goals from 65 is a huge weapon to be developed. Tippett roaming 35m to goal with a fit Porps and a resting mid around him. Its a rosy future.

Knighta has been the real loss to the forwards this year and this has impacted hugely on their performance. I think all the players you mentioned have a very good chance to play game time next year. If we can get through the preseason unscathed look out 2011.:D

Walker is good from outside 50 for sure, but he's a natural lead up Full Forward. For us to get the best out of him i think he needs to be the primary target up there.

Ultimately I'd like to see Tippet as the one that we develop at CHF. We know that one out he's very hard to stop, and bringing him up the ground will take him out of the 3 on one contests that he's finding himself in all the time now.

I'd like to see Tippett start his leads from about 40m out when we're rebounding from defense. With a good enough kick he could mark from about 60-70m out from goal one out to get through the zone, he could then hand it off to runners or deliver himself into the forward line. As good as he is around the goals I think we'd benefit far more from using him as a link man around the half forward line.

i wonder how well a pagan's paddock type setup would work for walker. he does display some carey like qualities..

most sensible idea regarding walker and tippett i believe and something that would be very dangerous

I don't see Tippett as a CHF. He's a great contested mark, but his kicking lacks penetration and accuracy from both set shots and field play. He should lead from the goalsqaure to about 50 out maximum, while Walker roams a bit more as he is a very long kick if going for goal, but also can spot up a target with more accuracy that Tippett. It's going to be hard to fit in Knights, Porps, Gunston, Hendo and eventually Davis into this forward line. I would persist with Davis developed into Bock's role, and Mckernan as 2nd ruck/KP relief player. I'm not sure where this leaves Sellar, but that 2nd ruck spot is hotly contested atm.

If we're going to isolate anyone, it should be Dangerfield. He's almost impossible to beat 1-on-1, his combination of speed and strength is phenomenal.
