Something is clearly wrong with the boy. While sprinting down the wing chasing one of the Richmond players, i noticed he was heel running.

Its like he's forgotten how to sprint. All kids do it naturally. At full pace your usually up high on your toes and heel contact with the floor is very minimal.

I had a couple of bad ankle and arch injuries a few years ago and noticed i was doing the same. I always had the feeling i'd lost my pace, but couldn't put my finger on it, in the end it was my running style which had compensated for my injuries.

Subsequently made a conscious decision to work on the weakened areas and have got my full pace back. Someone needs to chat with Mundy about running at full pelt. I can't believe Fremantle's physios haven't noticed sooner. Because i think he's been doing it for several years.

Go down the park and have a go at running full pelt but stride out heel first. Your speed is reduced significantly.

heel running???

When your walking, typically your heel hits the floor first (on the leading leg). You then take off from the ball of your foot.

When your sprinting, you should be up on the ball of your foot, normally your heel barely touches the floor.

Mundy is trying to sprint heel first.

I knew what you meant..
I just found a little animation that I thought was close to Heel running...

If Mundy is heel running he and the FFC have some problems....

No determination IMO,him and mayne where running back with their opponents and Mundy just gave up,maynes man slowed but he kept running to get mundys man who was going into space, now mayne was never going to get there but he never gave up.I know Simmons isn't slow but he was level with Mundy went for a lead out to the wing from the centre and when he got the ball Mundy was miles behind.

I saw something similar from Schammer. He and another were defending Kane Johnston and another running towards the city end. KJ sheperded Sham, Sham dropped off and KJ received the handball a few steps later. Our other player stayed in the contest and if Sham had KJ wouldn't have got the easy ball. Really basic error.

Im sorry, but he was chasing Deledio. Won of the fastest players in the AFL. Did well just too keep a 2 metre gap.
