Why is playing a forward who needs to learn to lead up to the ball , in defence , stupid ?
Is commonly used as a technique to tech players to attack the footy , just because some mis- read it , as in decision as to where he should play , doesn't mean that was the case ?
Also at the same time he may have blossomed , thought it was a fantastic idea and could only help 1% defensive skills also ?

I wouldn't mind seeing Post Griffiths & Riewoldt starting up forward. The way I would set it up is to have Griffiths & Post lining up on either side of the corridor around the 50m line, with Jack coming out of the square.
As the ball comes out of the backline they both lead, one towards the corridor and the other leads up the wing. That way it gives our backline 2 strong options to go for. The beauty of this is it forces 2 opposition talls to be dragged out of the F50 leaving Jack room to move and operate 1-1 inside 50.
Post would make Richo look small. Last year he was a skinny white kid running around and have a look at him now.I've always thought Gourdis was big, but Post made him look tiny when they were standing next to each other on Saturday.
Same reason why Thursfield was playing forward - to learn how they're opponent moves.I disagree.
Firstly because in the VFL post was used as both a defender and a forward which is a stupid way to get a player to learn the correct technique if he doesn't even know where he is playing.
Secondly because young forwards do learn and get to practice in the seniors. That is because they are generally undersized so they have to work on technique to beat AFL standard defenders and thus when their body develops they improve rapidly.

Richo was 197cm and 105kg. Post is maybe shorter. Is supposed to be 195cm and would be maybe 95kg?
Pretty much what my post meant was he has bulked up ALOT.Richo was 197cm and 105kg. Post is maybe shorter. Is supposed to be 195cm and would be maybe 95kg?
for about a decade he was listed as 105kgRicho was never 105 kg, that's ridiculous. Simmo would have barely pushed 105 kg even when he bulked up.
