Can't believe he played before Armitage on the weekend... He is an awful player, who has never won a hard-ball. Why is he still getting games?

Also something of interest:

1999 Draft
1. Josh Fraser
2. Paul Haselby
3. Aaron Fiora
4. Matthew Pavlich
...

I think this is mentioned in quite a few other threads Saints08, but yes Armo should not have been bumped especially for Fiora, who's form doesn't warrent a run in the 1s imo.

I'm waiting for Birss to get dumped to let Raph back in this week, based on the Fiora/Armitage logic...

... seriously, this could actually happen... who flipping knows with this selection comittee.

I thought that Raph was going to get Lenny Hayes spot. That must be going to Rix.
Maybe Gwilt can get Banger's spot, and Milney into the Ruck.

At least Fiora's draft cannot be blamed on the Saints. He was more or less inflicted onto us. I wonder if he would still be playing if he was at the tigers.

IMO Armo should now be selected automatically unless injured.
I would select Fiora behind Gwilt and Rix and McQualter based on their current form.
De-list at end of year.

I was hoping he'd pull the finger out for a game, but having watched the Bullants and Collingwood games there is no way he should of been selected. But it's not his fault that he was selected remember (I'm sure he doesn't have any incriminating pics of Roos and Lyon in the locker room at Sydney).

Perhaps Fiona is the one to turn to when he misses Paul.

Fiora was worth a punt. He was marketed as the kind of outside ball carrier we needed. The problem is he in not tough, and his amazing left foot has failed to materilaise.

Time to move him on.

Tackles at the weekend:
Fiora 2
Dal Santo 1
Goddard 1
Montagna 0
Dempster 0

Give Fiora a break. At least he offers some kind of run and creativity, unlike Dempster who is apparently guaranteed a game regardless of his form.
If anyone's interested in more Fiora debate I have a Saints blog at

Dempster 12
Fiora 6 (1 contested)

I read your blog and I like it:thumbsu: that is apart from your latest one on Fiora. I disagree he brings what need to the team, in fact he brings the opposite. The fact is he is soft, he is about as soft an AFL player I've seen and I mean both physically and mentally. He is yet to show me anything to suggest he cares for St Kilda footy club. We have too many people like him in our team already, passengers who appear to care little about the fact our season, the LAST season of the great Robert Harvey, is going down the shitter. Leigh Matthews would have been pissing himself at Fiora's inclusion, knowing full well that they'd dropped a young, tough as nails, enthusiastic kid eager to impress in front of his home crowd for a soft hack who can be kept out of the game with a little pressure.

Fiora needs to go home and watch a tape of Robert Harvey over and over again clockwork orange style until he is willing to give our team everything he has got, and until then I never ever want to see him wear the red white and black again. Him, and many others on our team at the moment, need to have a good long think about the badge they wear when they run out for the mighty Saints, think about our motto, and start putting in the way Max and Lenny do every single week.

 we were watching the same game? I didn't notice any run.

Fiora's stats for the game (according to AFL Gameday stats)
2 Kicks, 4 handballs, 3 marks,2 tackles .... hmm not enough for me

Only 2 players had less touches than him - Maxie (ok) and L Fisher.

I've seen more hardness on the netball court

Fiora refuses to get the job done. Has had many opportunities.

Secondly, please stop flogging your blog on every thread.

yes his a dud but inflicted on to you ?
are u kidding u asked for him and traded for him
than decided to play the bloke for a few years

Hey guys...we have you next week and I agree with the thread on Fiora and was wondering what was happening with Clinton Jones? From what I saw early he has a real crack at it with no fear. Has he been getting a game at all?

Didn't you hear? He had 12 marks and kicked three goals playing in the ruck. Look out next week.

I was just answering the question about his hardness - at least he laid a tackle. I just think he is one of the very few players at St Kilda that can actually run and carry the ball. Gram would be the other but he kicks helicopters every time and is sadly out of form. We've got too many players in the L.Fisher/Dempster mould and not enough prepared to run and attack and try something!

why did you pick him up in the first place? thats the question that should be asked not why your playing him he shouldnt be there
