Felt that Naughton played really well alongside Youngy. Lewis ability to also read the play makes it easier for him.

Deliberately putting this in a thread that isn’t about forward v back.

Naughts has now passed Tory Dickson’s 181 goals, so only Bont has kicked more as Bulldog in the last 17 years (since Johnno’s late career goal-fest). Currently on 183, behind Bont on 196.

Barring injury, should crack top 10 all time Bulldogs goal kickers during 2026, or by 2025 if he hits 50 this year (tough) and the next two. Brian Royal is 10th on 299.

Approaching 20 years since the last Bulldog to crack our top 10: Johnno when he passed Bill Wood’s 294 in Rd 5, 2005.

TiAn_ thought someone had bumped the thread suggesting it be renamed "Aaron Naughton - Pie/Eagle/Docker/Swan in waiting"!

He has kicked a goal in every game this year. Probably one of the few across the comp to do so. Averaging about 48 goals a season over three years including this one. He will get 45-50 again this year on current trajectory. Depends on how many finals we play.

The push to move Naughton to defence seems to have lost its momentum the last few weeks. Naughton, Jamarra and Weightman have each kicked 10 goals in the last four matches (avg 2.5/gm each). It's a potent forward combination, maybe finally starting to get some cohesion.

They have looked good recently. Not really flying for the same marks too often

Surprise Naughtys only rough form patch in 3 years only lasted a few weeks, who woulda thunk it.

Tbh I still don’t think he’s at his best, he’s just a bloody gun. His work up the ground has been elite and still hitting the scoreboard, reliable in front of goal for the most part. Gun.
