Having gone through ALL the matches played over the last 12 months and given my 3-2-1 (from what I remember and going through the scorecards) here are my award winners and predicted votes

Test Player of the Year

Warne 16
Hayden, Ponting 10

ODI Player of the Year

Hayden 20
Gilchrist 18
Lee 16
Gillespie 16

AB Medal (Remember Tests and ODI are weighted, so given that there were only 11 Tests opposed to 29 ODI. Test match voting will count for more)

Warne 50
Hayden 45
Gilchrist 41
Gillespie 37
Ponting 36

Lets see how close

I'm going to stick with Ricky Ponting as my choice for the Alan Border Medal. Ricky had a great 2002 year with the bat and as Australian One-Day Captain and will be tough to beat.

Challenges will come from Matthew Hayden and Shane Warne.

i would say matthew the man hayden or warney

if justin langer was playing i would of picked him lol but i think matthew hayden has been playing great and same with shane warne and brett lee

I'll tip Matthew Hayden. His form's been a standout in both forms of the game. At Test level he may lose some votes to Justin Langer, but Langer hasn't played any one-dayers so he's not really in the running.

You're safe from Eddie's head being on the F1 coverage.Ch9 don't doit anymore,Ch10 are most likely covering it,which could mean Tim Websters boofhead being on.

I was hoping Gilly, and Gilly it was :)

It was so close between Gilchrist and Ponting.... I thought Ricky would do a lot better in the test matches considering he had scored 5 centuries but Gilchrist dominated the test series in South Africa which probably got him over the line.

It is a great award to win, especially considering the number of world class players we have in our team at the moment.

Well done Gilly!! :)
