No quizes or assumptions, just application of reason and evidence. Firstly, Gary had much more drugs than her without dying:

This suggests he has built up a tolerance and he admitted to longer-term use. NB: he is not 6-8 times heavier than her and his liver probably doesn't work as well as hers. Ergo, he's had more alcohol, heroin, coke and probably e's than her.

Secondly, the Coroner said that she was out of her league:

It's not because of the age gap. It's the drug-experience gap. The Coroner was fully-appraised of the facts of this case and issues surrounding drugs and the law. We have to trust her assessments in this matter.

Are those two reasons good enough for you? Or are you still going to wilfully ignore facts and common-sense to protect your childhood hero?

No they aren't and Ablett wasn't my childhood hero. Stop making things up.

I don't see where it states he had more drugs than her on the night. Who's to say she didn't have more drugs than Ablett. Its common knowledge that females aren't able to consume as much alcohol or drugs than a male. How does this make Ablett responsible for her death?

I don't think anyone except Alisha would know her exact experience with drugs before she even met Ablett or exactly how much she consumed on the night.

Ablett = very good as a footballer - very bad as a human being. Not many redeeming features here. After his footy career was finished he was lost, nowhere to go. This is why AFL clubs are taking great pains to train their players for life after the game!

A Geelong man accused of bashing former AFL star Gary Ablett has died.

Vyasa Ofthsea, 31, of Newtown, Geelong, was due to appear in Geelong Magistrates' Court on Tuesday for a contest mention over the charges, but they were struck out when told he had died overnight

It's believed Ofthsea committed suicide.

Outside the court, his solicitor Margie Bourke said the mental health system had let her client down.

"I don't think it's the fault of the criminal justice system," she said. "I don't think there was any error in granting him bail.

"The problem is that our mental health system is so inadequate and so unable to deal with people in crisis that he just slipped through."

Vyasa Ofthsea, of West Fyans Street, was granted bail on July 3 under conditions, including the requirement that he stay away from and make no attempt to contact Ablett.

Bail for the charges relating to the alleged attack on Ablett was initially denied, but Magistrate Kay Robertson granted bail on the condition that Ofthsea stay away from Ablett, remain at his current address and seek drug and alcohol counselling from Barwon Health within 24 hours.

The Geelong Magistrates Court was told that Ablett was looking at cars in a South Geelong car yard about 11.15pm on June 26 when he was allegedly attacked.

The incident occurred two days after Ofthsea had been bailed for an alleged burglary and assault on his former partner.
