Had a shot of it once, had to sprint to the toilets straight away for a chuck. The spew entered my mouth as soon as it went down. So yeah, it's bad.

Yeah, it's a great page that, it really gets into the history of the drink as well as it is doubtful that there is a drink with so much misinformation spread about it (due to all that hysteria stuff that was attributed to it).

I frequent a really nice cocktail place where I live and am friendly with the bar staff so they got me onto absinthe a few years ago. The main lesson would be that, to enjoy it, it really helps if the quality of the stuff is good and it is prepared properly. A similar place in Melbourne you can get good absinthe and skilled bar persons to prepare it is Polly on Brunswick St (if it is still around). I'm glad I was introduced to it.

Could not eat any food untill monday lunch time. It was definatly one of the worst hangovers i have ever had. The freaking % always gets me

I like to have 2-3 ABC (Absinthe, Bacardi 151, Chartreuse) shots during a night out among a lot of other drinks of course, not sure how strong the stuff down here (Melbourne) actually is since I have had no bad experiences with it, just standard drunkenness. Love the stuff.
Get's you buzzed pretty quickly but isn't cheap.
Chasers are for lames.

Starting to lean towards Bacardi 151 as my favoured drink to Absinthe, after not having it for a while the burn really goes alright.
