Tuck and Bentick are very similar players, really. Physical battering rams with good first handballs, and not mountains else. But that's OK, it's an important part. They just get exposed out in the open spaces.

Full credit to Bentick for putting great form together. Without seeming too cynical, I would say half the reason for his dedication on the field lies in the recruitment on one Richard Hadley. Despite Richard being out injured, you can never underestimate the incentive of having a second capable player who has been recruited to play a similar role. Right now, Bentick is putting his head down so he can retain his spot - he also knows a top flight Hadley could potentially displace him in the team!

All great for the Carlton FC. Not only do we have some real talent coming through, we are also getting competition for some spots. 2010-2012 is looking really good!

I'll put my hand up as one who thought he was up against it. Very happy to admit he has proved me wrong and has definitely earnt his spot in the 22. Well ahead of Hadley, on what each have shown this year.

I don't think you understand that this is a mountain in itself - with a losing ruck to be sharking taps or laying tackles in the bounces where the possession game of today still has to start is HUGE. Coach a team and have a gutsy in and under player and you feel blessed! As you have pointed out they are good first handball men - the silkies can do the rest after the hard nuts start it!

- had dinner with AB's Calder coach last night and he gave me another name 'Jack Ziebel' whom he says has Nathan Buckley kicking skills (I am guessing he isn't one of the likely top selections but I am sure Gilly will let us know)

ps I am not stalking you but I have to be allowed on 'AB' threads

I honestly reckon he has more than cemented his spot in our 22, the guys a freak. Has got to be one of the MOST UNDERRATED players in the AFL, he's not a superstar but he's very much been ignored by opposing teams. Good on ya Adam
