If you get an end of 1st rounder as a priority pick:
Lukosius and pick 19, GCS 2019 third
For
Pick 3, pick 12, Crows 2020 2nd
Who wants it?Then it would be very unusual for any club to want pick 3 or 4 now wouldn't it
So are they wrong in wanting our pick 3 or 4
Please explain

It might seem a bit much, however while it isnt an exact science, the upgrades from:Doubt the Crows would do that. That would be way overs at this point in time, and I seriously doubt Gold Coast will trade Lukosius after one year.
Reckon if Luko does go home, it will be to Port, and not The Crows. I believe that infamous pre season boot camp in 2018 will be a deterrent for the Crows to try recruit quality players for quite some time (or until Pyke leaves the club)
They just need to trade out some older players if possible and re-load with picks for at least the next 2 drafts
Dunno if Pykey wants to start a list rebuild though, he always strikes me as a win now type of gaffer.

I’ve read Adelaide is shopping it, not that X club is trying to trade up to it.

I think it is the opposite. ie That the Saints are interested in swapping the first pick. It has been muted for a long time that the Saints could swap for two picks with GWS.
With the the Blues taking the Crows pick from 1 to 3 now as the season has progressed recent reports have been that the Crows are now thinking like the Saints. Obviously the Crows pick is earlier though.
If pick 1 or 2 were available the Saints may well be interested. But 3 I think not.
Port traded up to get Rozee big time, they didn't trade back for two first rounders, it was a ballsy move but looks like paying off they clearly rolled the dice and won .
There have been a number of players who have become superstars with later picks, that cannot be questioned
But do percentages say the higher the pick the more likely the success rate of a getting a gun, yes they do
So we could take the safe option and trade for a couple of late firsts or back yourself like Port did with Rozee and see what can be achieved

Crows cannot afford to assume Luko wants to come home at the end of next season, they should try and trade and plan for the future without Luko, even though I think it's 60-40 at this stage he will leave Gold Coast once his contract is up.
Crows need to bank their 1st rnd pick, and try trade for more 1st rnd/2nd rnd picks and try clear some cap space as well..
Choose the right draft to do it to...Well played. Was a good move in the end. We also gave up 2 of our best and damaging players in Polec and wingard, in there prime, which helped us get Rozee/Duursma/Butters. Looks good in hindsight but at the time i was really questioning the move.
We are clearer struggling in the draft area of the clubChoose the right draft to do it to...Well played.
Crows overrated it’s list and in doing so missed the perfect SA draft to go hard at. Doing the same as Port did this year could be dangerous as the same top end quality you want to build around isn’t there.
Time will tell re the top end quality of this draft but there are plenty of us very annoyed the club sat on its hands and did not go really hard to get a top 3 pick last year.Choose the right draft to do it to...Well played.

2017 was built on good trading with Jacobs Betts lynch Jenkins being brought in from other clubs and tex being an academy pick

Where do you think we will finish next yearI thought your drafting has been decent considering the draft hands you’ve had.
Just feel you missed the boat last year in an attempt to have a shot at a flag this year. Heaps of your players had a stack of currency coming of making a GF the year before. Could of gone into the 2019 with a stack of draft picks, and some real quality ones to. For example could’ve beaten Port and GWS to Rozee & Hately.

But still haggis identified hamill as its next pick last year and expected him to be available in the 20's and was happy to trade out of that draft at the pick 19. Now the club has a top 3 pick and with guys like Ash and kemp there at that pick, top end talent and speed from the contest can be added which the club needs..assuming the pick 3 is not used to trade for a player etc
The pick split talk is quite hilariousYour list reeks of Carlton’s when we missed the finals twice in a row with an old list. Admittingly you are coming from a higher base but you’ve got the same salary cap issues, older players locked into well payed long contracts and a lack of development into youth. We got kissed on the D having somehow fluked Cripps to build around and having Weitering, McKay & Curnow available in year 1 of the rebuild. If you do decide to cut the list and go hard at this draft I just think ideally it’s one to late.
What do you think about talk of trying to split this pick? Makes the whole pick swap thing pointless dosent it? Almost like Ried is admitting he stuffed up or the list was way overrated.
Depends what you do.
The club has taken a number of players in the 1st and 2nd round over the last few years but not played them yet or only sparingly played them. This year will yield another 3 picks inside the top 30 depending on who gets traded and for what and whether they do trade the likely pick 3. There is enough youth there but it is the coaching structure that is wrong. Look at carlton this year..floundering badly again under bolton and then finally cut him adrift and install a quality guy in teague and bang..all looks different now.Your list reeks of Carlton’s when we missed the finals twice in a row with an old list. Lets see how they go first. Both might end up super players..early daysLast years draft was a disaster for the Crows.
3 picks inside the top 20 and come away with McHenry and Jones.
If we trade out and rely in youth that we have drafted and you are predicting bottoms 6Depends what you do.
If you dont trade for some extra picks same spot as this year...just making or missing out on the 8. Personally I think this would make it longer before you’re truly challenging again.
If you do trade out...bottom 6 rebuilding for another crack...You guys seem to turn it around quick though so it won’t be a Carlton style rebuild.
