I like both of 'emAs if the footy world needed any more reason to like Eddie, and dislike Tex.

But the journalists got the facts of the camp right right , I’m not putting words into your mouth just trying to educate you. Why are you trying to minimise this ??Where did I state nothing happened? I am on record as saying the camp was terrible. I am only interested in facts, not sensationalist journalism. Please stop putting words in my mouth or assuming my position based on the team I support.

That's the problem to me. Eddie Betts apparently made his feelings about the camp very clear to everyone. At the time he was probably as well respected as any player at the club. Were lessons learned though? It seemed as though the club spent most of it's time defending the training and rolling out players to say how great it was.
I think that Betts is right to tell about his experience, and the media are within reason to report it. I don't see how that is sensationalist. And it is worth doing. There are 18 teams in the competition, and you never know when some clown in management will be taken in by a 'guru' and decide to employ them and their other entirely unqualified buddies to run pseudo psychological exercises that produce nothing other than humiliating players and ultimately decimating the team.
The crows were a divided team in the week leading up to the grand final and were never gonna win it. Tex made the sure all the players didn't sit with Lever at the airport, telling them he's not one of us. This really threw a lot of the players and a lot of loyalties were questioned.Maybe so, but it also highlights the inequality of the modern day AFL system.
Adelaide finished higher on the ladder at the end of the home and away season, in all fairness, they should have hosted the Grand Final at AO, if this was a truly fair and equitable national competition.
Having said that, i do believe Richmond would have won it over there anyway, so not trying to cast any shade at the Tigers 2017 which was well earned and deserved, but just highlights how arachic the current Grand Final system is.
As we have seen in recent years, interstate venues make for perfectly good and acceptable Grand Final venues.
I think eventually it will happen (top ranked team who makes the GF hosts it) unfortunately probably not in our lifetime.
Gotta lol that this is still up, yet Caro and McClure's report had to be taken down and apologised for when all of what Eddie says basically confirms their story.
Enjoy it while it lasts.
Nevermind Worksafe SA found no wrongdoing, legal action taken by the company was successful this is just an opinion-based exercise. Leaks to the media line up pretty well with the book excerpts. Hm.
Apologise for what? Didn't he or Caro start going on about people tied to trees and all the rest of it?
It just helps to illuminate what actually happened, not what a journalist chasing a headline wished had happened.
Their eyes are dead in this video. Cult like
There's nothing wrong with focussing on the mind, and the mental aspect of sport.that's brilliant, talk about a bunch of ******* idiots.
Heard on the radio earlier that the AFL basically are the Adelaide Crows board. They hold 7 of 9 spots.
I think Michael Warner wrote this in his book.
So therefore, if the AFL found Adelaide guilty of anything significant, they'd be opening themselves up to punishment.
Interesting take.
Hahaha...
“Then we started an exercise that consisted of role-playing our responses to our partners … One of the responses suggested to us was, ‘I feel like a better father and husband, having come from this camp.’”
Nek minnit...
“I 100 per cent game back from that camp feeling like a better husband, a better son and a much better teammate than when I was before I left for that camp. .....” Sloane said.
Someone was drinking the Kool-Aid.
When we were getting pantsed in the prelim at Adelaide Oval I took it upon myself to yell good luck at Melbourne to Jake Lever throughout the entire second half. I feel I contributed to this. You can thank me later Richmond fans. The crows were a divided team in the week leading up to the grand final and were never gonna win it. Tex made the sure all the players didn't sit with Lever at the airport, telling them he's not one of us. This really threw a lot of the players and a lot of loyalties were questioned.
There is no doubt the club handled it poorly. There is no doubt there are still some people at the club that shouldn't be. The observations made about the trajectory of the Crows post-2017 are apt.No doubt media personnel want to further careers but the story and ammo is there to do so.
As a neutral supporter I do want a bit of blood because I feel there has been a bit of a cover up and smoke and mirrors along the way. There was an element of "nothing to see here" from the club whilst some journalists (sensationalist or not) were saying "no there is something to see here, players weren't happy".
Eddie's book, whilst it's his own personal experience, confirms there were some concerns with what happened.
If things had of been more upfront, acknowledgement made of there being issues, then this would have been over years ago. Instead we've had one side saying there's nothing in it and very few details about what actually occurred. There's a sense of injustice about it all and that's why the media, and other neutral supporters are invested in the matter.
Were lessons learned though? It seemed as though the club spent most of it's time defending the training and rolling out players to say how great it was.

Court case was only about the implication it was deliberate , all the facts McClure and Wilson said were true , no sensationalism .
The newspapers decided is was fiscally prudent not to defend the legal action. It in no way proved what the papers said was not true And factual .
I’m not a talk back listener but my recollection is that journos were largely reporting information received from sources about inappropriate use of cultural artefacts and the lunatic stories relating to playing the Richmond song. All of which Betts seems to have confirmed. Collective minds denied this pretty emphatically, as did AFC I think? I find it difficult to believe that Eddie was lying. There is no doubt the club handled it poorly. There is no doubt there are still some people at the club that shouldn't be. The observations made about the trajectory of the Crows post-2017 are apt.
Plenty of journos and talk back were speculating without fact. I would suggest that by the absence of another camp, the creation of certain roles that tend toward the welfare of players that the industry has learned some lessons yeah. No doubt some people are stuck in their denial but that is just an unfortunate reality.
There was several points of speculation that did not appear to have any basis of fact. I think you are focusing on some. I am as angry ajd disappointed as anyone about the camp. But that doesn't mean I agree with a free-for-all when it comes to having a casual relationship with the truth. I don't think we are really understanding the point the other is making and that's okay.

I think there are some dumb people in footy.
Some supposedly smart footy guys, get sucked in really easily by bullshit artists that either promise them a great business deal, some cool peptides or in this case, a mind-blowing psychological program.
In my experience the majority of people who work as life coaches/motivators etc are frauds.
