Will we ever beat Essendon in Melbourne?!!

Awesome stats - gotta love our home record versus the Dockers ;)
Interesting stats. On Essendon, why not, as we won away to the Roos for the 1st time this year & they are the best Vic club at the moment. Our away record should improve (like over the past couple of seasons), as no longer play at Windy Hill, Vic Park, Morabbin, etc

True. It would've helped our cause if we played them over there this season though.

Just looking through the rest of the stats, it has a page with every single Adelaide league game ever played including quarter by quarter scores - always good to walk down repressed memory lane :o :(

Loved the fixturing in 1995:

R13 Collingwood 1.2 1.5 4.10 7.14 56 8.1 14.5 19.6 24.8 152 L M.C.G. 32858 30-Jun-1995
R14 Essendon 2.3 3.3 6.7 8.12 60 7.5 16.11 21.16 27.20 182 L M.C.G. 40269 08-Jul-1995
R15 Carlton 4.2 11.4 13.7 15.10 100 4.2 8.7 16.11 20.13 133 L Princes Park 22502 15-Jul-1995

Three weeks in a row away to the big three Victorian clubs. How did they get away with it?!!

We have poor records against the Victorian big three. Which also extends to finals. :(

Our two preliminary final losses have been against Essendon and Collingwood. And we've lost a semi and a elimination final to Carlton. So that's 0 wins, 4 losses.

Nah, we beat them in 2001 late in the season at Colonial.

And the Grand Final too, if that counts as away, which it probably doesn't.

I could've sworn we beat the Roos twice in 2001.

Yeah, your right - how could I forget as I went to the game! So the stats must be wrong, as we have beaten them twice away!

Fascinating reading. Especially the 9 - 4 record. I forget which team that was against. Just some bunch of superstars I guess.

Nahhh, just a mob of ferals not worth talking about. No wonder you forgot who they are - they're very forgettable!! ;)

Stick with the geisha girls Pred - they're much more memorable!! :)

When I first saw the fixtures that season I was in heaven! Getting to watch the boys THREE weeks in a row. At the end of the three weeks I was in HELL!I was starting to think I'd never get to see us win live in Melbourne. Mind you it made the victories against the Saints and Melbourne later that year much sweeter.

Ah the good old days, before some mob from across town ensured we played two more games a year in Adelaide.

The Grand Final is counted in our 'neutral' record against the Kangas ;)

Just on our rivalry with the Roos - 6 games have been decided by a goal or less. And we've been on the receiving end most of the time :(

Well yes. It's always been 11 home games and 11 away games. Now one of those away games is in Adelaide, so its 12 Adelaide matches, 10 elsewhere.

Of course you could be losing Melbourne games elsewhere - Launceston or Canberra for example.

I see what you mean.- Silly me.

Port played 3 consecutive away games (in 3 different states) last year (rds 14-16), so it isn't like it can't happen again.
