Turmoil will hurt: Knights
By Jennifer Witham9:50 AM Sat 17 Nov, 2012

FORMER Adelaide player Chris Knights believes the club's current turmoil could prove unsettling for the Crows as they prepare to start pre-season, as another player's third party arrangement is thrust into the spotlight.
Fairfax Media reported on Saturday that star midfielder Patrick Dangerfield had, along with Kurt Tippett and captain Nathan van Berlo, been paid about $20,000 by Alan Sheppard Constructions in 2011.

So now there are three players being investigated for receiving payments outside the cap. This shit is getting real. There appears to be so much in this that they are postponing punishing Adelaide until they can confidently determine the extent of their breaches.

The stink from this is growing.

There should only be two options for the upcoming draft:

1. Adelaide should excuse themselves voluntarily from this years AFL Draft

2. The AFL should postpone the draft until they can issue an interim sanction that would exclude Adelaide from this years draft.

The way it is shaping Adelaide looks like they are and having been acting like Carlton. You would have to expect that their punishment is growing to fit the expanded list of payments etc.

Crows supporters, get used to the list you have, as you won't be seeing any new faces for a long, long, long time.

Look, if they and Melbourne have blatantly cheated, then they should have premiership points stripped a away for next season plus no picks for 3 Rounds in 2013 and 2014.

Is there a rule, law ir regulation that says you must always try your utmost to win?

Its proving it thats hard. In F1 racing they had team orders and a car would pull over and let the other one past.
The punters cracked it, and now its illegal, so now the 2nd car amazingly has engine problems and lets the other past.

If gamblers want to bet on something that really is random i suggest they stick to roulette. Even motivation will come to play, a team at the bottom will never try as hard as one trying to get into finals.

There is a rule against tanking..

The AFL Regulation 19 (A5) explains that:
A person, being a player, coach or assistant coach, must at all times perform on their merits and must not induce, or encourage, any player, coach or assistant coach not to perform on their merits in any match – or in relation to any aspect of that match, for any reason whatsoever.

Actually no, at least not on the AFL's behalf, there may be in player contracts which are of course club secret and not available for public consumption that the AFL sign off on as "A-OK". On the AFL's behalf you have more marketing and promotion which is in the CBA under clause 20.

The latest about Sheppard Constructions is really the Visy deal wrote very small. AFL playing double standards here. The more they investigate the smaller the breaches they uncover are. I would be surprised if any club could withstand the nit picking the AFL appears to be carrying on with now.

The Tippet issue had substance, the others, not so much.

more shit news:

Rowey has just said on 5aa that the delay in the hearing relates to the fact that the Crows have evidence that the AFC have signed affidavits from the relevant companies that proves that the 3rd party deals have all been arranged at the instigation of the companies, not the AFC.

Rowey is saying that all charges against Phil Harper will be dropped, with the 3rd party charges re Balfours etc against Trigg also to be dropped, leaving only the charges re draft tampering to be dealt with, which Rowey said are on the lighter side.

if adelaide escape this crap i will be pissed. it shows the rich clubs will always escape punishment. flood gates will open.
That's right Rowey - keep telling yourself that ...
