While training today Adelaide have practised the art of how to go off at half time, and then come back on...

IMO if we are not careful the game could be won or lost here. If carlton take too long to come off at half time or take too long to run back on we could be in serious trouble.

also, some questions need to be asked of Russells ability to come off for half time. He has let the team down in most departments and if we are not careful, he could kill us here.

What should Carlton do to match Adelaides expert training techniques?

It's a joke Walshy...

Haha, very well done Adelaide, I don't think out on field performance will help us at all in this one!:p

Its true.

Goody said it was to simulate match day scenario, when teams go off halfway through the game. We went off halfway through training, and simulated the match day drill of rub downs, drinks, video analysis etc. And then came back out for the "2nd half"

mate if u had any idea about footy.. i.e - play in a competition when u go off at half, u'd have some understanding on how hard it can be coming back on the ground after a 20 minute break. the body has cooled down, the muscles feel stiff, with a distinct lack of energy.

preparing the players for gameday is neil craigs specialty, lets just see on saturday how effective this technique really is ;)

Been reading how profesional the crows are and this is clearly the next step in there premership 2008 plan, if we are to compete in this area with them i believe it may be best if we dont leave the ground at halfe time, at the siren the team should rush together and all stand and wittness the crows leave the ground, they should then stay in place untill the crows arrive back on the ground, only taking up there possitions once the crow players have, once our boys have done this it is my opinion they will then be capable of being able to do it on there own for the rest of the season, J Russell may have to stand with Juddy during all this so Juddy can explain to him what is going on and why.:thumbsu::)

We are stuffed now, the last few years half time and our team trudging off was often the highlight, now these Adelaide boys have decided to take that away from us also, this means war!!!!

lol, laugh all you want but every bit counts.

We were just simulating a match day scenerio, go off at half way thru training, re-hyrdrate, rub-downs and a talk from the coach, then back out onto the track.

At least we didn't blindfold our players or make them play with an invisible footy ;)

It would appear there has been too much 'stimulating' going on down at Crow land! Someone is pulling something and it ain't a leg!! :p

PFFT Adelaide and their "sport science techniques", they think they're so advanced then the rest of the afl. If they are seriously "simulating" going off and coming back on at half time they are a pack dimwits! what a joke! its hilarious that their supporters think it actually does something:D

Even robert walls said they have an obsession with sport science and try and get any advantage they can because their team is still pretty average:)

ah what a crack up those crazy south australians :D

Expect posts like this to get bumped if they kick the first 6 goals of the third quarter on saturday!

I have no doubt that the Crows would do that - they are coached by Neil Craig after all. Was referring to the concerns raised by the OP.

Neil Craig is an innovator. :thumbsu: Qualified sports scientist, most things may appear weird, but will have a reason behind it somewhere. :)

it is not, is it, no come on it's a joke ? it's got to be a joke, if it;s not a joke then they must be the biggest bunch of slappers going, come on tell the truth its a joke.

Hey if it doesn't work - it's a joke - nothing lost. If it works.... let's see how many Clubs replicate it.
