Stevo and Stiffy in..... Schell out

Adelaide has made two changes for Sunday’s third round clash against Melbourne to be played at Football Park.

Stiffy enters the 28-man squad after suffering a cheekbone injury during the pre-season. Schellfish exits with a calf ...out for two

Crows by 40 points

:D
The squad:

Adelaide
1 - Andrew Crowell
4 - Matthew Clarke
5 - Matthew Shir
6 - Ben Nelson
7 - Nigel Smart
8 - Nathan Bassett
9 - Tyson Edwards
10 - Matthew Bode
11 - Michael Doughty
12 - Robert Shirley
17 - Scott Welsh
18 - Graham Johncock
19 - Mark Stevens
20 - Tyson Stenglein
22 - Ian Perrie
23 - Andrew McLeod
24 - Brett Burton
25 - Bryan Beinke
26 - Mark Bickley
28 - Kane Johnson
31 - Ben Marsh
32 - Mark Ricciuto
34 - Ben Hart
35 - Rhett Biglands
36 - Simon Goodwin
43 - Ben Rutten
44 - Nathan Bock
?

Bad luck about Schell as he may not get another chance to impress before pre-season. Which 4 players should be dropped? I would probably leave out Marsh, Shir, Rutten & Nelson. I would like to see the Crows try out rookie Bock & Johncock, as well as give Stevo & Shirley a run. Where is Hewitt again? Who will play on the Ox - Biglands? Also, they will need to restructure the forward line. I would go with something as follows:

FF: Edwards Crowell Perie
HF: Welsh Stevens Bode

What's happened to Peter Vardy? I don't think he was named in Melbourne's squad this week?
Vardy is on track for a round 1 return after recovery from surgery he had at the end of last season. He is currently playing with Sandringham as a build up to the season proper :D

Schwarz may be out again this week, so you may not need to worry about a matchup for him. I'm hoping he plays, but he may be rested so he will be 100% for the start of the season.

I've heard Johncock is probably not playing with the Crows this week, more likely Port Adelaide, though I think Bock and Shirley are definitely in, as well as Stevo of course.

Gags, Fitzy and Massie all available next week I think.

What a shame about Schell, all hope is lost now :D :p

Id drop Shir, and Marsh but give Nelson and Rutten another crack:mad:

Who else!

I'd play Stevens at CHF and Bienke at FF. I'd leave Marsh in and drop Crowell.

[Where is Hewitt again? [/B]

Is he injured? He is not listed in Norwood's team on page 146 of the Advertiser. Perhaps he may be a late inclusion for the Crows tomorrow.

Thanks for the tip on BeINke.

cheers

Jerome

Topjars - the main reason I suggested dropping Rutten was that Stevo & Perrie need some match fitness. The same situation with Nelson, to give some of the other fringe players such as Shirley a run. However, Marsh & Shir clearly should be dropped as neither appears up to AFL standard.

Jerome - When the real stuff starts I agree about Beinke, but I would like to see the Crows try Crowell out at FF (like he played for the Eagles in the final last year), to see whether he is another option there. Beinke has had a good run in the 1st 2 games & could be used of the bench. I would also like to see Welsh get most of the game, as he has had limited game time so far.

There has been no reported injury to Hewitt & he has been playing the practice matches against Port's 2nds. There must be more to it, which is very disappointing. How Marsh can get a game in front of Hewitt is a disgrace to the selectors.

The boy is back this week! Yahooo!!

I might be in luck! It appears my boy is finally going to make his first appearance for the year!!!! :) Good Luck STEVO!!!!

I feel for Daniel Schell :( he was doing really well, 6 goals in two matches was terrific from this young boy. I hope he gets better soon!

I want Nathan Bock to have a go tomorrow, I have seen him with Eagles and he is terrific. Without Daniel, he might just get a chance, I hope so! :p

Heres hoping that we get a good win tomorrow and face up to Richmond in the Semi's next weekend!!!!! :D

Go You Mighty CROWS!!!!!

xx

Topjars - I guess you were right about Beinke. However, I was hoping some of the others got a go - so it would good to see Welsh play most the game & Crowell get a run late. & yes, even Marsh did a few useful things (but Bigland should still be playing ahead of him).
