Day one hardly over and the herald sun is ALREADY reporting that the Carlisle trade is heading to mediation. Last year it took nearly two weeks to get to mediation but it only took Dodo one day this time.

On the alternatives point the Age is saying St.Kilda is attempting to orchestrate a pick swap to get a more reasonable selection in the teens for Carlisle. However,

You left out the bit of that article that quotes Gary Buckenara suggesting that St Kilda should do the trade for pick 5.

We have been far and away better on and off the field. Dododo has butchered Essendons list and are in big trouble in the coming years.

Our list looked promising in 2011, pretty solid in 2012, pretty awesome in 2013 and quite awesome in 2014. Except at some point we hired somebody that couldn't really coach that well and put them in the top job. And then we put our list on drugs. I've got no problem admitting that Essendon has majorly ****ed up over the past few years, but I'd rather direct the criticism to where it's due and not at Dodoro because the list has been the least of our problems.

If the ASADA crap never happened and Dank never came near the club, we wouldn't have lost Ryder and we wouldn't be losing Carlisle. And we probably would have finished a lot higher. It's that simple.

Yours are in my uneducated opinion ( I am not an expert on your list) Reiwoldt Bruce armitage Steven and billings
It's not like our best 5 players are really any older than yours
Our older players are now middle tier in our side or in the case of Gwilt cooney and giles depth
Dodoro went for experience as we were precluded from great draft picks I don't agree with it but we are not in a disastrous position mind you losing Carlisle hurts

Hang on - Gwilt, Cooney and Giles were brought in last year - you had no draft sanctions. He brought them in as he totally missed read how good your list was.

To be fair, I'd also lowball as hard as I could for as long as I could.

But yeah, I'd consider a young KPP that can play like he can to be a top 10 pick. Would give a pick up for a player like him no question. I would have given 4 for Charlie Dixon.

Actually, all solid points.

All I would say is that I've seen him destroy games when he wants to. He's been out of love with Essendon, not football. Whoever gets him will get a star. But true that it's not an absolute given. And true he's uncontracyed and walking.

If we could, I'd pretty much hand him over today and discuss his value end of next year. That's how confident I am.
