Is anyone using the AI chatbot chatGPT?
I have young kids so I am always looking for things to do with them.
With my kids in mind, here are some examples of what I have asked -
"Write a short story with a princess and a fairy that a 5 year old would understand"
(The AI generates a story about 200 words long with those features that is relatable to how in my experience a fantasy story would be appreciated by a 5 year old audence, in less than 1 minute).
I then ask chat GPT to add a moral to the story. (AI adds the moral in a convincing way).
I then read the story to my 2 girls who love it, so I start to believe its a useful tool.
I then experiment with other commands, such as asking it to generate an outline for a random subject. I choose the Australian inland taipan and its diet, habitat and food. (AI then generates a pretty good outlime of these things).
I then instruct it to write this outline in the form of an essay, of which it does in about a minute and a half, complete with grammer, an introduction and conclusion and very readable to boot.
I then instruct it to write it in a condensed format that a child would understand, and in under a minute is able to generate this.
I then experimented with giving it random food ingredients and asked it to generate a recipe, of which the AI in about 15 seconds gave a full list of easy to follow directions to make a meal out of just those ingredients.
So far I'm becoming convinced this is more time efficient (and more interesting and fun) than using google as well as just more powerful. I can see this becoming fairly ubiquitous.
Ive read articles that users are training chatGPT to successfully pass university level exams, write business letters and resumes amongst a host of other things.
So a thread for discussing chatGPT, chatbot AI, and how you have found it useful (or otherwise) and had fun, or frustration, doing it.
