Oh and also FINALLY the West Coast 2006 player photos are released so you don't have to use the gay 2005 ones (which don't include draftees).

http://westcoasteagles.com.au/default.asp?pg=players

Click the drop down menu and it will take you to the profiles with 2006 photos :D

We've had those photos for quite a while now. They help with gettting correct hairstyles, hair colours and skin colours in the game.

I haven't heard anything about a PC version. I think Sony have exclusivity with the AFL for a while.

So the answer is "no" then?
Didn't Sony have the rights to the last game though?
Must say I'll be very diappointed if the game doesn't come out on PC. No way am I going to be a good little consumerist-conformist sheep and buy a PS2 just to play AFL on it!

SONY had the rights for 2005, the PC version came out a little while after the ps2 version...i would think it's the same for 2006 :thumbsu:

Also FH, do players have limit's to how many experience points you can give them? so you can't get a player rated a 100 for everything. most Top 20 draft picks should have more chance of becoming a star player because there limit of expierience points is higher than a lower draft pick, of course there should be low draftees that can be become a star player aswell.

i hope you get what i mean.

Yeah players can only reach 100 points in attributes. The only limit as to how many of their attributes you can max out to 100 is the salary cap. Players who achieve 100's in attributes tend to be pretty costly as their attribute totals determine their salary.
Also players who reach 100 points in certain categories are capable of becoming 'star' players.
Hopefully this makes sense...in essence you can max out your players to make them stars but you may not be able to afford to keep them so you need to find a balance.

With regards to the draft picks...yeah the top 20 have a head start on the other drafted players but any of them can become stars through your input.

You will be able to go back through the games and see results only.

Hoping to get the season totals for things like kicks, handballs, goals etc in...I am fighting hard for its inclusion before release. I can't imagine a season mode without it...I mean, who wouldn't love to see how their spearhead is going?

You're fighting hard for its inclusion? FFS it should be the first thing in. Whast the point of stats if they aren't shown in totals during the season?

Relax, it's going in now. Wrong choice of words on my part...

How much is left to be done on the game FH, very excited for this game.

just a few more Q's, In 2005 i found that

Full Forwards kick to many goals, they mark too easy or at some stages have no one on them. Wingman and Half Forward Flankers can play a whole game and barely get a touch.

The kicking in 2005 was hard, in P.E 2004, the kicking was easy there was a torp button, normal drop punt, a snap shot/banana button. In 05 even when you try a speer pass it goes no where or it just lobs up in the air and sometimes the kicking was just random, liek you would aim to kick out from full back to the Right back pocket yet the ball would go straight down the center or over to the LPB and go straight to the oppistion.

Has that been fixed up the kicking is back to the old way>?

Time-wise we haven't got long to go. Game-wise we are pretty much content complete and tweaking stuff based on bugs.

Good to hear you are excited. Hopefully you agree that it goes a long way to putting the franchise back on track.

Yeah forwards aren't deadly accurate this time around. I was playing before and even Lloyd missed on a 45 degree angle some 35m out from goal. There are a lot of things factored into the kick like wind, distance, accuracy ability of the player to name a few. The difficulty level also plays a part.

Yeah kicking has been improved from the 2005 version. You can kick a torp (button based), stab kick (short on the power bar), long kick in the direction you are facing (long on the power bar), over kick and spray it (too far on the power bar) or centre the ball (any distance) using the goal kick button. Also what point you settle on with the goal kicking hud determines the placement of a kick so you can snap kicks using that.

Sounds awesome, i think it will be a ripper game, 2004 P.E edition was great IMO it was fun to play against mates, against the computer it got a bit easy but it was a good game.

Last year it was good to play against mates but the lack of stats and the ratings of teams where a let down, the skin and hair types of players along with commentary, and the huge tally of goals for FF's and the camera angles where the major let down. but the game was still bearable .

So far it seems most if not all of those areas are haved been fixed and improved a lot so it should be a lot better game.

Yep have been reading through this thread and think it will be awesome...

can "Out of bounds, on the full" be somehow included?

That line from the NES game was legendary!

classic. :thumbsu:

FH - do you know when we can expect to see screenshots?

Also when your playing the game, can you notice the difference between star players and average players eg N. Dal Santo hitting players on the chest, no clangers etc, as opposed to J. Blake who misses targets, lot's of clangers etc...because i thinks it's been a big problem in previous versions, every player is the same, you can't notice a difference in skill levels.

Hoping it's a little better in 2006. cheers.

No word on public domain screenshots yet.

You should be able to notice those things. Especially when in control of them. I am finding it really obvious in the air with regards to be outmarked and having to resort to the punch against the stronger marking players. As it should be I suppose...

I do think this is a bad move on IG's part to be honest. Its a great way to build excitement and if it is only 2-3 months away, they really should be releasing a few screenshots. Lots of companies do deliberate "leaks" so feel free to do the same here ;)

I push the envelope enough already...:p

To be honest we haven't even taken screenshots yet and I'm not sure they're an IR responsibility. We're just finishing a demo version of the game for release in stores late May/early June. Figure that's better than some screenshots (which companies usually photoshop anyway)...

Proberly the most important addition after gameplay!

You mean they will be given out or the game you are releasing this year is a demo?
