Sorry if this has been asked before but what platforms will the game/demo be available on? Will the xbox be skipped and go to xbox 360 or not. Thanks

The 2006 version is PS2 only. As far as Xbox/360 goes I don't like yer chances given the AFL signed an exclusivity deal with Sony.

FH i asked before a few times but it must have ben overlooked but do the Wingers and Flankers get more involved this time around, they bareley get a touch of the ball in the previous version

Yeah you will find you use more of your players this time around. In particular at centre bounces as the wingmen come in to support. During general gameplay you'll need them to carry the ball too. Also depends on how well they are rated in the game.

FH, will we expect this game to be late June or early July?

Yer guess is as good as mine there. It's a rough call to make but expect it anywhere in that time frame. If I were a betting man though I'd say sooner rather than later in that time frame.

Will it include a Fantasy draft in Dynasty mode? (If you don't know thats where all the players in the AFL go into a draft and you get to pick an entirely new team from these players like in a draft)
I had another question but I've forgotten it, I'll get back to you on it if I remember
EDIT: I remembered :p
You have mentioned training, will you have to take a player/group of players to the training track to improve things like kicking do a kicking dril, or for marking a marking drill etc. or will you just push a button and your player gets better?

Fantasy Draft = No. But's it definitely something we are looking to add in 07.

Training = There is no training mode in 06. We have something called Player Development where you can assign Experience Points won playing the game to individual players or the entire team. These Experience Points can be focused on any of the 10 attribute categories that make up the player. Hopefully in 07 we'll have a training mode where you actually take to the training track.

Selection of alternate jumpers??

There is no selection as such. Would love to have had it in but we ran out of time. We do however have all the jumpers in the game. The AFL have informed us of what rounds clubs will be wearing clash jumpers so we have incorporated that into season and career modes.

Fantasy Draft isnt a great worry for me I just think it would be awesome to draft an entire team from scratch
Most great EA games include it though so you will need it in there to compete in the near future
Training is a bit of a bummer to not have included but this "Experience Point" system sounds alright
Looks like the game is coming a long way from the poor effort that was 2005

Somewhere between two and twenty seven. Acceptable? I am not an avid gamer I only really play WWE and AFL games so I have no idea what FH means by demo. Helping Helps :). There isn't any reason to argue because Staff just explained demo and that.

P.S. FH, will we expect this game to be late June or early July?

Got nothing to do with playing games mate.

I would say you need to get out more.

That would mean the game is only 4-6 weeks from going Gold!

I dont believe a word you say.

Will the Aurora Stadium in Launceston be included? if so can you make sure the siren is almost silent so that the game can run for a few minutes after full time.

Following your previous efforts and the sony only deal you signed - I wouldnt be surprised it this happens without you guys meaning it to :) (sorry - couldnt resist)

A quick question. Will banners be back in 2006? They were a sad omission from 2005. Also, when the team is running onto the ground, I think it's a good idea to do a Rugby League and show the lineup. They do it very well in Rugby League (which boasts a good create-a-player) and I would love to see it in 2006.

Cheers!

I have recently discovered this thread and this game looks to be exiting. It appears as if the creators may actually be listening to punters feedback.

I have been waiting for years for a decent AFL game.

I have seen all the great things this game looks like including. Is there a way to get a list of the features/improvements to the game.

That would be great.

Hey Folks,

Sorry I haven't replied to any questions lately. We are VERY busy getting the game ready for final testing. As you can tell from those screenshots (wasn't aware any were made public) we are well along the path to a final product.
Some really crucial changes both visually and gameplay-wise have gone into the game in recent days and I'm really enjoying the playing experience. Looking forward to testing out the 4-player game later today.
Very happy with what we have been able to achieve in such a short time.
Recent additions to the game are the team missions, truly aggressive tackles, fixed up speccies (no more specky 5m away), more realistic marking contests (you really have to time your run in the harder difficulty settings) and some sensational attempts at goal by way of the old NES goal kicking style when you're on the boundary! Player hairstyles and even facial hairstyles are being finalised and we're really just adding polish to everything now. Not to mention playing the game as much as possible to spot any anomolies.
I'm really confident that you guys will find the game to be a progression as opposed to the regression that was 2005.

FH

I'm not lying guys. (It wouldn't make business sense to do so) I know how disappointing it is to fork out $90 for something that's substandard having been on the receiving end before. I'm not promising the world here but I am promising you that you'll enjoy playing an AFL game again and will look forward to the next title for continued improvement. You'll also notice that your input is having a real affect on the game.
