any news on screen shot releases, vids???

any info on a website???

release date (even a guess at a month)?

and sorry to question but how many ppl are helping you with the stats (roughly)???

surly your not on your own.....

sorry no news there.

Website? yeah nothing there either.

Release date in that Sony press statement was July. Can see why it won't be the case.

There are 5 of us but it's essentially my job as I am considered the AFL expert at work. I have final say and no, I won't be biased with the Hawks and yes, the Pies are finally rated accurately!!!

tried playing the game today, was a bit bored.

I've gotta say nothing has ********ed me off more than this bloody game.

I won't buy this game again until EA sports does it.

Do us a favour and at the very least rent the 2006 version (woud prefer you'd buy it but I understand). You'll notice a big improvement.

I'm not gonna wait until 2 months after relaease to rent it. I'm buying it like I always do. I trust this game will be better. Just to re-state an earlier question - you said there was no rookie promotion-whatever system BUT my question is that are rookie listed players included in this game (as regular players)?

Re: Fixing up the AFL games

Also, with the overall player ratings, I think this should be the mould ratings are based on:

Players which are 90+
Superstar players who have proven themselves and are guns i.e: Judd, Riewoldt, J.Brown, Pavlich, Hall, Hodge, Ball etc.

Players which are 80-89
Players that are becoming or near superstar status or past superstars which arent quite as good now i.e Buckley, Voss, Hird, Crawford, Kouta

Players which are 70-79
Players which are very good but not quite at a brilliant level yet or young players that have potential to be champions

Players which are 60-69
This is where top 10 draftees should come into picture, players given alot of hype as top young draftees. Maybe even the no.1 pick could figure in the 70-79 bracket. (should get good value out of draft picks). Also other players which are average or young

Players which are 50-59
Players drafted later in the draft or have not proven themselves at AFL level

Players which are 50-
Player that stuggle or havent played at AFL level.

These ratings should go up and down each year and I think this mould provides a decent range for a realistic ratings system

Re: Fixing up the AFL games

Are players ratings out of 10 or 100?

And also i remember being told about the 2005 version that in a season mode if you are losing the crowd sizes go down and up if you are winning, not sure if it happened though? anything like this in the 2006 game? won't be depressed if it isn't though!

In the career mode do players leave for more money, want longer contracts, or unhappy? etc

cheers.

So no All-australian, rising star nominations/award??

That's correct. It's unfortunate but we have run out of time to include those awards. We're fighting time to get in the Norm Smith and Michael Tuck medals...

Players and teams are rated out of 100.

Not sure about the crowd thing. I reckon it's the same as it was last year so if it worked then it works now.

Players don't negotiate contracts (that's something we want to add in the next release - the post season mode is progressively getting there). There are reasons for players retiring however. The usual case for players moving on is the need to fit players in your salary cap and trade offers from other teams.

You are pretty much spot on with how they are being rated. The only differences being that listed players who have won Brownlow Medals tend to be the highest rated players but only marginally. What we do is rate every player then list them from highest to lowest and correct the list where needed. But in general the rules you described above are similar to the ones we have adopted. We are also much harsher on drafted players as they will range between the high 60's and low 40's.

so extend the deadline.

The major problem with the last game was how half-a***d it felt. This game looks like being no different. No AA is a joke, it's a huge part of the season and should be in.

agree....but the deadline would most likely be up to sony and the head of IR Gurus....not FH.

just a quick Q FH.......no doubt a NO answer.......

It just occured that just about all rugby games(league, union) have the "playing advantage" rule..........Y not Aussie Rules Games???

Even if once you play advantage, Its play on and the ball cant be bought back if there isnt an advantage....as it would be hard to incorporate a system for your game that can tell if there has been an advantage.

Well hope you understand this one.........and if its not in 06....maybe 07!

Dont like the drafted player range. In 2005 unless u get a top player they are pretty much all useless and it seems that this is similar to 06.

Re: Fixing up the AFL games

Another point I want to make is CLASH JUMPERS. today, I was playing 2005 in the Wizard Cup and oh my!

I was playing as the Kangaroos

I was playing against Richmond

The Roos decided to wear their white jumper with the blue Kangaroo outline.

The Tigers decided to wear their grey jumper with the Tiger on the front.

I could not distinguish betwen the two sides except the Roos had an orange circle around them. I made constant turnovers and mistakes.

PROBLEM: Unable to disinguish between above mentioned Kangaroos and Richmond jumpers. (As an example)

POSSIBLE REASONS:

1. Poor player models

2. No warning that jumpers may clash

3. Unable to choose jumper

SOLUTION: Like in AFL LIVE PREMIERSHIP EDITION, let us choose the palying team's jumpers. Like in NBA LIVE 2004.

Re: Fixing up the AFL games

Another problem/annoying thing (more annoying than that damn frog):

I hope you can add this into 06 and when you read it you will say "Oh yeah that's a good idea". How about in season, at the conclusion of drafts and tradings etc. how about assigning guernsey numbers? This would solve what I find myself doing regularly is that I get a player from a draft/trade and I find that he has a number like 48. Yuck. I find myself trading him along with a player that has a preferred number and trading them back (which is frustrating because it takes several tries to get both of them in a deal). This is silly.

Let us assign guernsey numbers. Makes sure that you are happy with your team. Let us give players a change and let us not have to give draftees or new recruits the dreaded numbers 40+

This would be easy im sure. Come on man.

Re: Fixing up the AFL games

simple way to fix it

GIVE THE ********ING RIGHTS TO EA!

IRG has done nothing right since it got the rights, you've made such a bad mess of our game that I won't be buying the next IRG round of games you give us.

Give the rights to any competent game developer.

IR gurus are a joke company and the AFL games they have produced are so pathetic it's embarrasing.

I won't be buying the game either, from what we have seen in this thread it will be absolutely no improvement what so ever. I mean no AA? What the f*** is this? get the basics right before you stuff around with player ratings etc.
