Sorry, my bad, they are actually pretty useful in 06 as they are highly rated in their areas of speciality. If you play them they will develop more quickly and will become very handy players by the seasons end (which really is the case with a lot of drafted players in real life - players like Judd for example were exceptions to the rule in that they were dominant players from the outset). The beauty of playing these guys in 06 is that after a match you are awarded experience points (more or less depending on results of the game) and you can distribute them amoungst the 22 players from that match. So allocating those points to your drafted players who played will bring on their development more so. It makes for a more interactive (hate using that word) experience in bringing on your playing list.
Hopefully you can understand why drafted players are rated this way now.
