Guys stop with the abuse. Keep it on topic or this thread will be closed.

Please close the thread, im sick of all the crap matera_girl comes up with.

Ofcourse we have a right to complain, if the game is garbage we complain. This game so far sounds like garbage pure and simple.

This thread has a purpose and that is Fixing up the AFL games. It would be a shame to close this thread.

Another question FH, can you assign guernsey numbers at the end of each season?

Re: Fixing up the AFL games

Come on, lets get back on topic. Of course people have a right to complain about crap products! if you get a bad meal at resturaunt you complain about it...same thing with games.

But it's time to move on, lets see how this one turns out. If you don't want to buy it no problem but there is no point insulting people eh?

Any news FH?

-why shouldnt people whinge when they pay good money for a game that is utter crap? spend $100 on a game you play a few times, gamers have a right to complain!
its like anything, if you spend money on something which doesnt meet the required standards, should you just have a smile and go 'oh well'
you are an idiot

- I can understand the frustration of spending $100 on junk, ive done it myself b4 on many games for sure, like everyone has.
But fact is, if your half smart, you do not and will not spend or lose $100 on purchasing a game.

Basically, PS2 games should are some are, rapidly dropping well below the $100 mark because of the pending release of the PS3 and limited lifespan of PS2 and also becuase Xbox 360 is kicking its ass at the moment.

And if the big shops are charging near that amount its best to look in at Big W and Target, because nearly everytime i have been there for a game they have been $5 - $10 cheaper

And finally buy from EB games if you have too, they give you a full week to try out the game you just purchased, if you hate it that much then take it back and get ALL YOUR MONEY BACK
And if you like it and keep it, and then trade it back into them down the track, they give you money of your next purchase , so in the end your basically loosing closer to $50 than you would on $100.

Thats basically 3 hours of your working life, or $1 a week for the year
Theres plenty other BS things in life that do nothing for us personally and cost much more ( TAXES )

And i work in retail so i know there is always a better deal dude, so pull ya head in $100.

It says on Futuregamez.net that the release date for 'AFL Premiership 2006' is the 1st of June, thats like a month and a half away. Is there any truth to this or will the game not be ready by then?

I am somewhat anticipating just what will be served up to us this time around.

I must state that the last few attempts have been absolutely rubbish and unplayable. I have been reading this post for sometime now and am hoping that the geniune sounds of improvements isnt fools gold.

Thanks to Fiery Hawk for takin the time to keep us informed and making some sorta an effort to get a game the ppl will like, which is above and beyond anything any other previous developers have done and look at the tripe they served up.

I will stand behind Fiery Hawk and support the game, and he is puttin his nose on the line a little bit, because just like everyone else i will most likely be standing behind him with a knife behind my back just incase the game does turn out tripe LOL, nah jokes, i can cut some slack.

And to the idiots who whinge about the most little prissy ridiculous additions to the game, FFS give it a rest, the key is to get the game headed in the right direction where u are actually happy to sit down for a while and play it. Other additions can come in once they get the basic essentials of the game correct, otherwise its not worth having at all.

All the best dude, hope the game goes nicely, i'll still buy it, its only money hey? easy come easy go, and FFS u tightwads who whinge about forking out, geezez u can get games cheap as these days, plus trade in some to EB and they practically hand u the new title.

Thanks, I/We appreciate the support. Hope you enjoy the game when it's released.

I think that date is up there with one of those EB Games dates they trot out.
To be honest I can't see it being out then...July is more likely.

Sir yes sir! FH, how many seasons can you play in 2006?

In Season mode you play only one season. In Career mode you will play (at this stage) 10 seasons in-a-row but we are looking at making it unlimited.

At this stage no but we are hoping to get it in.

Yes some excellent news on the commentary front...we have more Cometti-isms than you can poke a stick at. They're all in there from 'centimetre perfect' to 'plenty of arms but no signs of Hans Blix'. Makes for a more enjoyable experience when playing the game.

Marking, tackling and celebration animations have been edited and added. You'll notice the changes after 3 years of the same goal celebration...

So, would Season mode be something along the lines of playing through the season, and players attributes, team stats, ect. stay the same?

Where as in Career the above stats would go up/down much like 2005? Because if you were to play just the one season, i think the changing stats would be kind of pointless.

thats great!

i hope you have the few he says when a player screws up badly such as...

-his jocks are hanging from the scoreboard now
-wipeing the egg off his face after that shot
-question of accuracy now
-met solidy
-the alarm bells are ringing for "insert team" now

etc...i can't wait to hear them. :thumbsu:

Re: Fixing up the AFL games

Dont know much about the process of making such games but other than making the game more realistic the other top prioirty should be to have the ability to make yourself (create a player)....im sure everyone likes to see themselves getting 30 odd touches and dominating an afl game (i know i do as such things havent happened for real in my case anyway).

The phrase Season Mode is a bit misleading but yeah you're right. You can only develop players in Career Mode. In Season Mode you can choose to play the entire season, pre-season only, home/away only or finals only.

The last three you mentioned are in. We have about 30+ new ones added this year as well as special intros to games which feature more cometti-isms.

is there a preview or screenshots anywhere of this new game.

Not as yet. A version fro previewing shouldn't be too far away however. No screenshots yet. Still finalising the look of the players...

Create-a-player won't make it this year but is high on the agenda for 07.

Re: Fixing up the AFL games

You still playing the game much Hawk????

Is it easier to find players to kick to that are by themselves??
Like do the tactics play a big part in the games flow - Flooding, zones etc

Last year, due to the random leads some players make and a kicking system that wasn't that easy to master, I found it difficult to get upfield quickly AND efficiently........Another reason for this is that after a mark it would take your player a good 5-10 secs to go back and settle himself for his kick.

Is this improved???? If not can you put it on the '07 list???

Also.....

The famous radar!!!
(that little graphic/pic with blue and red dots thats to small to see......let alone use:confused: )

Will it be back????

If so, it desperatly needs to be a bit bigger and not see-through!

Last yr the radar was a faded/see-through grey footy field which made it difficult to see the dots......

Thanx again Hawk:thumbsu:

I dont think there's been a question you havn't attempted to answer for us!

Cheers Mate

Yeah, all fine and well, roguless54, but the way that AFL 2005 was hyped up pre-release and the simple fact that the packaging itself is a case of blatant false advertising and then the game turned out to be such a load of tripe, I think gamers have a right to complain, regardless of price or return/refund policies of retailers. I have the PC version of the game and it was only $50 and I'm still fuming over it! And EB don't trade-in PC games, so my only option is to pawn it for, like, $10 (if I'm lucky!) at Cash Converters or a game trader!
But I suppose your one of these guys that voted for VSU, so why do we bother trying to explain?!
As for Firey Hawk (I assume that's what he meant, as opposed to "Fiery"!!!) prattling away about how good this next version is going to be - call me a cynic, but it doesn't fill me with great deal of hope when all we have to go on is hype from a faceless name (albeit a misspelt one) on an internet forum who will no doubt disappear the minute the game hits the shelves and bombs like every previous release!
