OH FFS THE GAME HAS NOT I REPEAT HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED. THIS MEANS YOU COULD NOT HAVE WASTED MONEY ON IT.

Lol. I'm pretty sure tobes1995 was talking about '05....

Locky's post (above tobes1995's post) said, 'mainly due to AFL 2005 which was a total waste of $100 (One of my mates has actually borrowed it and I've told him he can keep it, not that he ever plays it)' and I think tobes1995 was reffering to that.

Well if he was I retract my statement and apologise to tobes. You'd be surprised at how many ppl have come out bagging the 06 version without it even being available. I just got fed up.

haha dont worry mate same here i dont think AFL2005 was taht bad but it was annoying with the gameplay and unfortunately with ppl like locky who spent 90-100 bucs on it they wasted a lot of money.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but in the new version when the computer marks inside f50 will they always chip it short to a player in the pocket or will they actually go back and take there kick. Also when the full forward makes the lead will my full back actually chase him he always just stands still

By all accounts the game is no good. I would save your hard earned cash... its disappointing we cant get a good AFL game (since 2003).

Its beggining to sound like this, everything seems to be for 2007 version and this version is sounding more and more like its 2005 older brother. Wouldnt be surprised if i just try before i buy this year lol. Most likely will just wait for the 2007 Version when the additional features are actually going to be added. Hope it proves me wrong though when i get to try it, as a good solid AFL game would just be great

They will go back and take thier kick and yes, your full back will actually chase. :D

Just about all the gameplay bugs have been fixed and a few additions such as tactics, kickouts, rucks etc. have been included. Will have to wait till '07 for create/edit a player/team, online play and a few other things.

Will be much better than 05. :thumbsu:

Official Alberton_Magpie AFL 2006 TIP

The tip is do not buy it as it will be exactly the same as AFL Premiership 2005 I read the features and they are exactley the same as AFL Premiership 2005 and offers much less than AFL Live 2004.

In conclusion

AFL Premiership Edition>AFL Live 2004>AFL Live 2003>AFL Premiership 2005 and 2006

I also believe and have for a long time that '05 is no good but I played it today for the first time in ages with my bro...

Its actually not that bad.

Before you kill me........You have to set the cpu assist and direction assist to off. It makes it so the computer basically has no control over your players movement or accuracy. Makes for more dropped marks and more behinds.

It makes the game alot more playable and it will at least get you through till July 20 when '06 comes around...

BTW Borgsta, I'd love some of the stuff danielz_23 is smokin...
What really annoyed me in 2005 more than anything was the short kicking
You could only kick it 30m tops.. other than that it was playable but after a while it just annoyed me along with other things that were missing and made it unplayable.

Re: Official Alberton_Magpie AFL 2006 TIP

Can those who have supposedly played it let me know where they have played it? I am astounded that you have done so....no really, I am...

EXcept it will only be on which format?

I don't think a PS3 AFL title will be out for a long while yet...

Reasons for it;

1. The console isn't available here yet so there isn't a market for it
2. Console sales will need to be pretty high for money to be spent on a lower budget title like AFL

(of course these are solely my views and not that of IR Gurus or Sony or the AFL...)

But surely they wont be making a game for the PS2 6-7 months after the PS3 has come out?

They are definitly missing something....

BTW FH, I cant remember if you mentioned anything about Kick-in tactics for this years game???

There are positional setups for both kick-ins in attack and defence. They come under the same tactical banner as the midfield, fwd50 etc. There are 3 to choose from. They range from huddles to zoning.

You can also set which player will take the kick-in (as well as an alternate player if you wish) but these must be done prior to the commencement of the game. The default player/s are the back pockets. When I play as Hawthorn I let Hodge or Guerra kick in due to the distance and accuracy ratings of the players.

So they will do only a PS2 version, no Xbox or PC and this PS2 version which sounds like a minor update to 2005, won't be able to be played on a PS3 system.

Them one has to ask, what is the point!
It won't sell enough, as everyone who can afford it will rush out and get the new PS3 early next year and the compatable games for it.
